I often find hip hotels lacking compared to a 'real' 5 star place. Not the Edition.

Amazing service. A group of 6 (rooms) were all provided in room checkin. This was my second stay at the Edition. Rooms are very good, bathrooms excellent. Again the service is perfect.

The hotel bar is as hip/popular as a 'real' bar. Restaurant is very good.

Only thing lacking from hotel is a Spa (there is a good gym). But if you can survive without this, it is the perfect place to stay in London both for business or pleasure.

Booking was also very good by emailing Anna directly Reservations.London@editionhotels.com

I will be back.

I had couple of nights here with my wife courtesy of Marriott Points and it was a fun experience

The hotel lobby is buzzing with black dressed hipsters enjoying a drink from black dressed staff - sometimes hard to tell them apart

Rooms are very nice if a bit small - only weirdness is the light switches seem random in which lights or sets of lights they operate and no shaver point in the bathroom

Check in in was a bit annoying in that I was early and they promised to get my room ready as soon as possible but I ended up getting the call exactly at 3pm which is the standard check in time - they could just have told me up front there was nothing they could do

Breakfast was great but get there early as its popular

Location is great - fun to walk around the area and visit lots of boutique shops and Restaurants

Overall a good add to the options in London. I will be back

Dear MaxBethune

Thank you for sharing your review, and I’m glad you thought it was a fun experience. It’s good to know our staff blended in with guests, as this makes for a more homely and less formal atmosphere in the lobby we have always wanted to achieve.

The few light switches in the room all have their own function, I’m sorry this was confusing to you, I’ll make sure we do a better job at explaining when escorting guests to rooms.

The hotel has been very full in the past months, sometimes not allowing us to have rooms ready prior to 3pm, the official check-in time. We will however always attempt to have rooms ready for guests if we know an arrival time. My apologies this led to annoyance, we should have given you a better time frame when you arrived so you could have made alternative plans until that time instead.

The Tavern’s breakfast is a popular destination in the business community, serving fresh a la carte dishes, and ensuring our hotel guests have priority throughout the morning. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Kind regards,

Edwin

This hotel has it all. The moment I stepped out of my taxi upon arrival I was greeted by name by all hotel staff. The stay got better from there. The lobby is grand with old world elegance mixed with amusing, modern art. It all works quite well. The room was spacious with a large, modern bathroom. I loved the rain shower. The turndown service included art on the TV that was odd, though provoking and still humorous. Who is the woman in the portrait? I saw four different versions of her in each of the rooms I visited.
This hotel takes service quite seriously but never forgets that it is a place for fun as well. It is a hip, trendy spot for locals, a place for a special occasion and a destination in itself. A special thanks to Robin at the front desk and all the doormen who looked after our group. Great location, great service, wonderful people, everything you need in a hotel and then some.

Room tip: I stayed on the street side and could not hear any traffic.

Dear gregntommy

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about the hotel, and Robin is thrilled you mentioned him by name.

The lady in the portrait is Paula, the daughter and muse of Dutch photographer Hendrik Kerstens. He has a large picture featured above the lobby’s fireplace, and she is portrayed in four varieties in our guest rooms, playfully resembling the Dutch master portraits of Vermeer. I’m glad you enjoyed it, and comment on the video art we display at turndown service (guest have an opportunity to purchase this through a unique collaboration with Sedition Art).

Thank you for bringing in a group of guests. Great service is key to us for an equally great stay, and we do like to blend this with fun, lively and interesting public spaces, serviced by genuine staff. I’m pleased it worked so well for you.

Kind regards,

Edwin
