This is a property by Marriott. It is a nice hotel with larger than standard London-size rooms.
the rooms are comfortable but lack proper lighting!
This whole hotel is too dimly lit! We are in our late 40s and early 50s and we could not read anything at this hotel without turning on the flash on our iPhones!
The rooms have a bathroom with sliding doors that do not close well enough to shield noise!
The worst experience you can have at this hotel is staying at any of the rooms close to the front side of the hotel on the 1st or maybe the second floor as well! The "trendy" "in place" Fourier/Bar at the hotel lobby, right at the entrance with the tens of half drunk free spirits enjoying their hangout while making others miserable with their noise! You all know how half drunks become loud!
When we first walked in this hotel I thought we entered into a convention of some sort or maybe a pre-wedding reception, but the next three days the same crowd and the same noise! I asked the doorman about this "convention", he graciously explained this goes on 4 to 5 nights a week and these people were normal Londoners out for a drink at the "in place"!
I will not be staying at this noisy hotel with no room for lounging at the lobby and no light to read anything!
To be fair, the location is great, right off oxford and Soho is a minute walk away.
Also to be fair, the people working all over the hotel were extremely gentle and professional and helpful.
If you appreciate your quiet and comfort, stay away. If you like to be "in" with a bunch of half-drunks who do not know you, then by all means check in there :-)
Oh, I forgot, they kindly placed us at the farthest rooms from the entrance, right at the back of the hotel ... facing a construction site !!!! Sleep tight!
