As you approach, (mind the gate post if approaching from city centre!) through the canopy off trees, at first , you don't see how nice the building really is. Once upto the front door, it's even better than it looks on website. We went for a stroll down the garden after check in, where we got a better view of the beautiful house. Inside, everything is tastefully decorated to a high standard, inkeeping with the period of the house, but in a modern, fresh way. Our room, the Carrow, was well laid out and spacious for our 3 night stay. The breakfasts were very good and generous. Tony and Sue (and Bill!) were great hosts and seem really proud of what they have. They should be. We look forward to an opportunity to stay again some time soon.

This B&B is the owners' new project and the whole operation has involved a lot of care and attention to detail, even down to a good and current set of books and DVDs for guests to borrow.
The hosts are friendly, helpful and professional; the rooms and the house in general have been carefully renovated and furnished; facilities are excellent with a spacious bathroom and tea and coffee with fresh milk! No problems at breakfast with a large full-English and other options. The frshly made fruit salad is particularly impressive.
The only downside is that it is a good walk to the city centre, but there is a pleasant riverside route, Thoroughly recommended.

When you approach The Grove by its gravelled drive you are not sure what to expect. Having stayed for one night only, I now wish we had more time in Norwich.
Our room (Carrowdale?) was just beautiful - clearly styled by an interior designer with stylish light fittings, fabrics and furniture and a huge ensuite bathroom to die for - claw-foot bath, smart toiletries, fluffy white towels etc. This is more than just a B&B - this feels more like a boutique hotel. Breakfast was a delicious, unhurried experience (if a little quiet in the dining room, but then isn't it always as 6 awkward strangers share breakfast together?). The only drawback may be that this is a not a city centre location, unless you like walking. Not a problem for us as there is plentiful parking at The Grove, and the location is blissfully quiet.
The hosts are a delightful couple - attentive without being overly-friendly - they are there to make your stay comfortable, not to join you for breakfast, and I liked that having stayed at some B&Bs where you feel like you are either imposing or at grandma's for tea.
All in all a truly excellent experience - I rate this one of the best B&Bs I have stayed at and good value for money. I am sure I won't be alone.

We stayed here for two nights in late July and were impressed by everything about The Grove. The hosts, Tony and Sue, were thoughtful, and there were lots of lovely touches -- fresh milk, real coffee -- in the room; the room itself was stylish, and the bed extremely comfortable. And the bathroom was bigger than some rooms we've stayed in in other places! The breakfasts were excellent, beautifully cooked local produce, in a gorgeous sunny room overlooking the garden. And The Grove's location is good too: within easy walking distance of the city centre.

Now living in HK we wanted to tour the East coast of the UK while back visting family, recommended by a friend who did some research we booked in for three nights , this place is exceptional, Tony and Sue Hamm have done everything right , there are three rooms and Tony gave us a quick tour before the other guests arrived ( book early , they get busy ) they are all incredible ( clearly Sues touch ) we took the main room , but the attention to detail is clear in all. They bake their own bread and the breakfast is worth staying another night for, locally produced food but the sausages are the best, Somewhere with there was a old clock chiming on the hour, it just added to the warmth and character of an amazing renovation, is this the end of the Hotel chain...lets hope so , get restaurant ideas from Tony, he even lends you his map , what a nice chap!!!
