We visit Norwich a couple of times a year and hadn't previously stayed at the Annersley House. We will definitely stay again. Double room size was good, the gardens at the back could have been from a family house, breakfast was well cooked from fresh ingredients and reception friendly.

Note that some sat navs place the hotel in completely the wrong part of Norwich, so key in the full street name and number

I was very happy with my stay here - the staff were excellent, very willing to help with any request we had. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and had character. It's the first time in ages I've stayed in a hotel where the rooms have real keys, as opposed to key cards!
The only disadvantage is that it is on a main road, so the buzz of traffic is definitely present, but not disturbing (I had no problem sleeping). Norwich city centre is about a 10 minute walk, so it's not too far out. I would definitely stay here again.

All staff very friendly. The bedroom was quiet, despite being on a main road. The furniture/decoration in the room was rather dated, but there again it is an old hotel and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast room is bright and airy and overlooks a pleasant small garden. The breakfast menu selection was good, including kippers, smoked salmon & vegetarian options.

Good value with a £50 internet rate and very convenient for the city centre.

Well what everyone looks for when booking a hotel is a bargain which offers nice food, clean room and must be close to everywhere...the Annesley has all of this!
My husband and I stayed there with some friends 2 years ago as we were all going for a night out to celebrate our birthdays so wanted somewhere fairly cheap and near the centre and we couldn't have got better if we tried. Rooms were clean and comfy could do with up-dating the "Jack and Vera Duckworthe" decor but that is the only thing I can class as a downside to the stay. The breakfast was lovely and the hotel overall is quite a peaceful place which is great as the hotel is situated on the main route into the City shoppping area.
Overall I would give it an 8 out of 10 and we have actually booked to go back for a few nights stay soon so hopefully I won't come back and contradict my review!
