We stayed at this hotel recently for a friend's wedding (not at the hotel).

The location is good, staff friendly and the food was great and obviously popular with locals.

Unfortunately the bedroom (room 8) was small, the bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was too small to be able to wash properly! Decor was outdated and the lightswitch was not actually connected to anything! There was some noise from the neighbouring room which appeared to be staff quarters.

In general areas the decor was tired and in need of updating - the pictures on the website seem to be quite selective.

Overall a disappointing place for the price.

“A great break”

Attended the hotel over the Bank holiday weekend. The hotel was full and the bar/restaurant was very busy with non residents. We had one of the non suit rooms, the en-suit was very well presented with the little extras to use ,as was the bedroom ,we had as much coffee making/biscuits as we could use and were replaced each day.
I found the staff really friendly ,helpful & welcoming. The hotel is small ( only 18 rooms) and the bar area may be in need of a little redecoration but the atmosphere was welcoming and the bar staff worked very hard. Food was plentyful and the meals we had were good. The location by the water is first rate if you want to unwind and watch the world go by. Would I go back for another visit - yes I would , and we look forward to seeing the hotel and staff again.

A return visit for the second year running. Perfect location with attentive, friendly staff. Rooms are well up to standard for this class hotel. Disappointed by the food on this occasion, I'm afraid. Breakfasts were warm but no better and we were disappointed with the evening meals - one evening the beef was tough and on another the gammon was burnt where it was not covered by the melted cheese.
We'd stay again but would arrange to eat out - a pity as the hotel is so superb in all else.

I'm afraid the view of the hotel on their web-site is misleading. The view from the balcony is fine but not the widespread panorama they suggest. The docoration is sloppy with paint covering the edges of the wall tiles. Very basic plumbing for the showers. More particularly the food was very poor. On the first evening the small side salad with the pate starter was limp and old. Even worse the salmon I was served stank when I cut into it. Only the cooking had sealed in the smell! The accompanying vegetables were hard and dry rather than crisp and moist as if they had been kept under a hot light to keep them warm after microwaving. I would not recommend this.

Friends and my Husband and I were very satisfied with on Birthday Celebrations. We had excellent service, and the food was very good. The Bill at the end of the evening was also very reasonable, and a good Birthday evening was had by all.
