Hotel rooms very 'tired' we paid £95.00 a night for a suite with a river view, the view is gorgeous, but the balcony layout is awful, you can only stand up to see the view at is best. For obvious health and safety reasons they have added an additional concrete slap above the original low rise balcony, but decerative ironwork would have been better to afford the view. The bathroom is old and the shower is rubbish, the furniture, curtains, crockery are all shabby, i would of expected a much higher standard hotel for the price, and believe me i have stayed in lots of hotels!! The food is nothing to talk about, and the full english Breakfast was disgusting. Unfortunatly i only came accross 3 members of staff that were pleasant, the others very rude.
On check out we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay, was there any problems, or a thank you please come again.
I thought Wroxham was a lovely little picturesque place and really enjoyed it, the weather was lovely so could sit out in the sun and watch the world go by, the boats, swans etc was Fabulous, just a shame the hotel let us down, I would never stay here again until it had a complete referb

Never judge a hotel by its website! This looked lovely from the website and there seemed to be not much else in the area.

One positive: some rooms (called suites??!) had a lovely view of the river.

However, rms were very dated and shabby. Bad decor in anybodies book. Hotel lobby area was smokey and not a relaxing place to have a drink.
Food in restaurant was rough.
The entrance to the hotel is awful and is more like the back entrance to a multistorey carpark.

If you are staying in the area I would recommend looking into booking a self-catering cottage as an alternative.

We stayed at this hotel recently for a friend's wedding (not at the hotel).

The location is good, staff friendly and the food was great and obviously popular with locals.

Unfortunately the bedroom (room 8) was small, the bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was too small to be able to wash properly! Decor was outdated and the lightswitch was not actually connected to anything! There was some noise from the neighbouring room which appeared to be staff quarters.

In general areas the decor was tired and in need of updating - the pictures on the website seem to be quite selective.

Overall a disappointing place for the price.

“A great break”

Attended the hotel over the Bank holiday weekend. The hotel was full and the bar/restaurant was very busy with non residents. We had one of the non suit rooms, the en-suit was very well presented with the little extras to use ,as was the bedroom ,we had as much coffee making/biscuits as we could use and were replaced each day.
I found the staff really friendly ,helpful & welcoming. The hotel is small ( only 18 rooms) and the bar area may be in need of a little redecoration but the atmosphere was welcoming and the bar staff worked very hard. Food was plentyful and the meals we had were good. The location by the water is first rate if you want to unwind and watch the world go by. Would I go back for another visit - yes I would , and we look forward to seeing the hotel and staff again.

A return visit for the second year running. Perfect location with attentive, friendly staff. Rooms are well up to standard for this class hotel. Disappointed by the food on this occasion, I'm afraid. Breakfasts were warm but no better and we were disappointed with the evening meals - one evening the beef was tough and on another the gammon was burnt where it was not covered by the melted cheese.
We'd stay again but would arrange to eat out - a pity as the hotel is so superb in all else.
