“great little place”

Premier Inn Norwich - City Centre

20 Nov 2008

I must admit i was a bit unsure when I booked this place, as we hadn't been to a premier inn before, but we were on a budget so that was that.
I needn't have worried, the reception area was really professional and the staff were very human!
The room was very clean, and the bed was great, a king size, and of good quality. We had a really good night's sleep. The hotel was quiet and unlike some was not like a series of rabbit warrens stacked on top of each other. This is quite a small hotel, and I think that makes the difference in quality.
The breakfast was really prety good, there was table service, and a cooked breakfast was freshly made, with veggie sausages/soya milk fon request. The milk was brought to the table personally, ina little jug.
The evening meal was as you'd expect, good pub grub, but extremely good for a budget hotel, they didn't try to be fancy, but what they did was very well cooked and presented. All in all a good stay - we'd definitely go back.

“A clean, convenient, and friendly budget hotel”

Premier Inn Norwich - City Centre

15 Oct 2008

We stayed at this Premier Inn for two nights in September 2008. I didn't know that Premier Inns are a budget hotel, so the size of the room and down-to-basics bathroom surprised me a bit. But the interiors were modern and clean and tastefully done. The reception staff was endlessly helpful (as Americans, we had a lot of questions). The hotel is well-located for exploring the old, center part of Norwich, including the cathedral. You can walk to restaurants and shops--which is wonderful, because, trust me, if you're an American, you will not find driving in downtown Norwich enjoyable!

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Clean, friendly, stylish, at a reasonable price. Also well-located.
    • Disliked — No extra towels, a bit bare-bones. Also high internet charges to use their computers.

“Good city centre hotel”

Premier Inn Norwich - City Centre

19 Sep 2008

We stayed at the Duke Street hotel for a short beak. The hotel is conveniently located for the city centre - we parked the car in the St Andrews carpark (about 100 yards away) & mainly walked. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were larger than at some Premier Inns and as usual well kept & clean.
We found that for a city centre hotel the room was quiet with very little audible traffic noise. Car parking in the St Andrews car park is "free" - reception will validate your ticket, that you then put in the machine at the car park, which codes it for exit at no cost.

Stayed four days at this Premier Inn. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Large, clean room which I thought was excellent value for money. Good location - easy walking distance from the city centre and some very good restaurants in the neighbouring streets. I was a bit disappointed in the hotel restaurant - it was adequate but nothing special. The service was great but some of the food was the kind of microwaveable stuff you can get in any pub. On the other hand, the breakfast was excellent - the Full English was individually cooked for each customer. They even managed properly cooked fried eggs! Plus good quality bacon and sausages. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

“Very impressed all round”

I booked 18 rooms for a corporate event. I found the staff to be extremely helpful, and the rooms very impressive. Premier Inn have been doing a lot of TV advertising recently, and their ads are accurate. The room was lovely, very clean and large, and the bathroom was enormous! Lovely flat screen TV, tea and coffee etc. I asked for an iron and ironing board, and they brought it up immediately, even though I knew they were very busy. For £77 including all-you-can-eat English breakfast, views of the river and modern furnishings, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Norwich.
