I stayed at the hotel for a ball in mid may with my partner, upon arriving we were imediately impressed with the charm of the hotel. We went to check in to our room which was a lovely spacious, clean bedroom and ensuit.

We came down later on after getting ready and the evening flowed really well, the staff were polite and the service was good. We attend a lot of these balls and i have to say, this one was no exception, the food was outstanding and the marquee they have is beautiful, everyone seemed to be soaking up the atmosphere of the hotel and evening..

once we retired to our bedroom we had a lovely nights sleep and breakfast in the morning was just as tasty as the evening meal, full english and continental buffet avalible.

when we checked out we were told of a 2for1 meal they are doing, we will certainly be back for this!

Attended a wedding there and stayed over, the whole occassion was just perfect. The wedding was well organised, the staff were very friendly and were brilliant. The food at the wedding we couldn't find fault with and the accomodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. If I had to say one thing that we weren't completely happy with it would be that the breakfast was a little cold, but we feel that didn't spoil our stay, we would definately return.

“Hotel under bad ownership”

Caistor Hall Hotel

23 May 2008

This hotel is plainly under bad ownership with the owner of the hotel being extremley rude and arguementative. Not what you would expect!!! The place is under staffed and looks as though inadequate training has been given. My stay was absolutley appauling, with severe plumbing issues in the bathroom and cleanliness levels low. The place hasnt got a star rating which i am not suprised about. I would advise people not to stay in this hotel.

“Really pretty awful”

Caistor Hall Hotel

21 May 2008

Stayed here for a couple of nights for a friend's wedding. Arrived late and there was a ball in progress. The reception is right next to the bar so there were lots of ball guests loitering around generally getting in the way. There isn’t a lift, so we had to lug all our luggage upstairs by hand, and there was no offer of any help.

The room was well furnished, although the bed was very soft. The bathroom looked like it was 20 years old. The grout around the bath had gone black, the suite was ancient, the sink and bath drained very slowly. Generally shabby.

Our morning papers didn't arrive, there were no cups to make use of the team making facilities, only a couple of the TV channels worked and when we asked for a iron we were given a broken one. Although we arrived 20mins before the end of breakfast, all that remained were some soggy half cold buffet offerings.

We overheard another guest complaining at reception. The receptionist looked like she'd heard it all before.

All in all it was very poor (they claim on the homepage that its luxury!) and it was an outrage that we were charged £110 per night.
It's worth about half that.

We have taken up the offer for 2 for 1 meals in the past and had a lovely meal and evening but the last visit left alot to be desired. The dessert was hardly edible and the coffee was nothing more than coloured water. Having asked for fresh coffees - the second offering was not much better and the staff did not seem to be interested and certainly did not seem pleased to help make their guests feel happy. On the whole a disappointing evening experienced.
