“Discreet cat”

Gothic House

My wife and I spent three very enjoyable nights at Gothic House. We were welcomed with wine and as it was my birthday, Clive put on something extra special for our first breakfast, mmmm, delcious!

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room expeditious to relax in. A full fruit bowl with ginger nibbles on the side was much appreciated as was the luxurious shortbread treats (melted in the mouth).

My wife (who has a good eye for cleanliness) kept remarking how sparkling clean the place was.

We are not huge animal lovers and yet, the purrresence of Tensing (the full time housecat) was barely noticable.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return if Clive is not all booked up.

“So stylish”

Gothic House

Gothic House is so stylish that the label B&B doesn't do it justice.

The owner Clive had thought of every detail to make our stay lovely, from easy directions for finding it, to the beautiful decor, the comfortable and spacious bedroom and the delicious breakfast.

We were on a nostalgic trip to Norwich, but actually the Gothic House is a reason to visit Norwich in itself. It is a beautiful building situated in the historic heart and is within walking distance of the key sites of interest.

The welcome was particularly relaxed and generous, and flexible, as we arrived a little late and came back from a restaurant to be greeted with a glass of wine, great conversation and a curious cat.

Superb value for money. I have already insisted, rather than recommended, other members of my family stay here next time they're in Norwich.

    • Disliked — I had a mild allergy to the cat (altho I didn't mind at all - I have one myself and get it at home!)

“Way above a normal B&B”

Gothic House

From the moment we arrived I felt very comfortable and well looked after. Gothic House is beautifully decorated and has loads of personal touches that made me feel pampered and special.

Nothing was too much trouble for Clive (under the watchful supervision of Tensing).

The house is remarkably peaceful despite its close proximity to Norwich city centre. I've already recommended it to a number of friends and definitetly intend to stay again.

“Our stay at Gothic House”

Gothic House

We've just come back from a one night stay at Gothic House. We found it to be a delightful find which we would recomend to anyone wanting to visit Norwich. A gorgeous old house in a lovely part of the city, the house is packed with character and furnished beautifully. Also a great breakfast watching the Easter Sunday snow added to the experience. Finally there is a great little pub yards from the house which we made full use of. Overall a really lovely stay.

“Fantastic B&B”

Gothic House

Very comfortable and welcoming B&B. The towels and dressing gowns are a rare treat more likely to be found in a top hotel yet with the friendly feel of staying in someone's much loved home. Clive is a friendly host who cooks a great breakfast from local produce and makes every effort to ensure your comfort.

On calling to say I was arriving late Clive offered to fix a meal, so I was welcomed at 11pm with grilled salmon and a tasty salad. Well beyond the call of duty.
