My wife and I stayed here for two nights over the August Bank Holiday.
The biggest disappointment was the room. It was at the top of the building, cheaply furnished ans rather like a not too good B & B room. When we arrived the topmost staircase had a sock on it.....it was still there 2 days later when we left!
The food was not wonderful. I would certainly have been upset if I had paid £24.95 for it in a restaurant. My wife requested that her tuna had the dressing on the side (she is allergic to garlic). It arrived smothered in the dressing. The waitress's response was, "Do you want me to take it back?" Having said we did, it returned 2 minutes later with most of the dressing scaped off. We could have done that ourselves. It didn't go back a second time for fear of each of us eating separately.
The service was friendly, but they were certainly not well trained. Another couple ordered champagne or sparking wine. This was eventually delivered but not opened, just left at their table...perhaps that was too much to ask of an untrained waitress.
We won't be returning.

We stayed for one night in the Falcon Manor Hotel. We were told on arrival that the dining room had been booked out so we would have to eat dinner in the bar which was very disappointing. We later took a look at the bar and decided to walk into the village instead...

The bedroom was a good size with a four poster bed (minus a roof?!) with a big TV. But the view was just stunning out over the countryside, just what tired city folk crave!

The hotel itself is situated on the main road into Settle but we found no real traffic noises were audible from our room which was a relief.

All in all a pleasant place with plenty of atmosphere.

We booked over the Internet on a site which showed the only price of rooms as £80 per night and said that some rooms had Four Poster Beds. On being asked for preferences we requested if possible a Four Poster. However, on arrival we were told that there was only one Four Poster Room left and it would cost half as much again per night. We declined the offer! We were then taken to our room which was at the top and back of the building up two lots of stairs which were located behind three solid doors. The room was a little disappointing, although it was clean the furnishings and decor were dated and cheaply done.
The breakfast was excellent.

What an excellent place to spend a long week-end or even longer. Sixteen of us spent a long weekend here in April and really enjoyed ourselves. Excellent accommodation, beer, and food! wonderful view across the Dales

What else could you want, well maybe a few less bumps in the bowling green! but there again how many hotels have this facility.

We shall be back in force.

Mr/Mrs Grimes, Stockport
We discovered this fantastic converted rectory over three years ago and have just returned from our 9th visit.

Why do we keep going back for more? Simple – Breathtaking views of the rolling Yorkshire Dales. Elegant and tasteful interior and bedrooms. Dining room and accompanying menus to die for. Very professional and friendly management and staff. Some very interesting
nooks and crannies give this converted rectory it's olde worlde feel.
Fantastic location just down the road from a quaint market town. Lots
of places to visit, and walks to go on. Top quality all round, and a fantastic place to feel welcome and very relaxed. Go see for yourself. If you want modern chic and comtemporary – then go to the cities. If you want to feel relaxed and content within a fabulous rural location, then get yourself to the Falcon. We will definitely be back !!
