I stayed at the Seacliffe with my husband and another couple for two nights in July 2005. We are all seasoned Whitby visitors and have stayed in several different hotels. We found the rooms at the Seacliffe to be small and shabby, badly in need of redecoration and refurbishment and very much overpriced. The toilet seat was falling off in our room and the bath mat provided was frayed. Our friends' wardrobe was so small it wouldn't hold the clothes they had brought for the weekend. The furnishings and bedcovers were old and faded and we also found the furniture in the lounge area to be shabby. On a brighter note the breakfast was very good, but it did not make up for the poor quality of the rooms.
