With reference to Depressed & Miserable Dec 2004 I must disagree. We had the fortune to fall upon Dunsley Hall and book our Wedding there. What a truly wonderfull and magical experience it was. A day we will never forget. Rooms fantastic, Food fabulous, setting beautiful, owners and staff second to none. Our guests fell in love with Dunsley Hall and that was a joy to hear. Nothing was too much trouble.We have stayed in may hotels and have just returned from Venice and we give Dunsley Hall Ten out of Ten.
Love to return in the near future.......

I treated my sister and her French husband to a night at Dunsley when they came to visit. We were offered two rooms with four poster beds. (Rather modern compared to those in France but still very attractive). My sister got the room on the first floor with the most fantastic views over to the coast.

We ate in the restaurant and after having spent many stays in other 5 star hotels I have to say the evening meal was the best we had all tasted. Compliments to the Chef.

The whole stay was not cheap but we left feeling we had been well looked after.

stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fabulous and the setting beautiful. Lovely bar & dining room. Pool to ourselves. Well appointed rooms, great views over countryside to the sea. I imagine this would be a great place in winter also.
There is not much within walking distance (Whitby is 10 mins by car) but if you're looking for a luxurious (not inexpensive!)retreat then here it is.

Went for a meal with a friend on the recommendation of her husband who had been there with his work colleagues. So glad we did! There was a choice of two set menus - one just under £30 and one just under £40. We had the cheaper option, but it was truly one of the nicest dining experiences I've ever had. From the crisp white table linen, the lilies, the excellent service to the food itself: well cooked, imaginative and original. Between each of the main courses was an extra little 'something' - making the meal 8 courses including the canapes (served in the lounge before dinner) and coffee with home made chocolates (served in the library). We had a fantastic evening and I know lots of other people who have been there since - they've all had a great time too. Highly recommended - would love to stay there too!
