This is a lovely B&B in a tucked away location with beautiful views and great hosts.
The B&B has plenty of parking and pretty garden grounds (the owners sell chutney made from the fruit in their orchard). Our room was at the top of the house and very comfortable with a good sized bathroom and the usual tea/coffee facilities. (With an added cookie jar which went down great when we got back from the local pub!)
There are 2 pubs/restaurants within walking distance of the B&B. We tried the Postgate first of all but unfortunately found the staff unhelpful and unwelcoming. We were told that without a reservation for the restaurant we couldn't get food - even though there were other people in the bar ordering while we had a drink. So, we took our money and went to the Horseshoe Hotel (accessible from Broom House by walking over the bridge (15 mins), or over the Stepping Stones (7 mins)), who welcomed us (and have a beautiful dog!), and served us good fresh food promptly.
When we mentioned we were going out for dinner and drinks to the owner of Broom House he offered us a torch for the walk home and then as we left ran out with the offer of an umbrella for the rain. Very kind and exceeds the service you would usually get elsewhere.
In the morning the breakfast was beautiful (we had a full english and herrings) with a great selection. The owner was also very lenient with us in regard to our checkout time allowing us an extra hour. (Oh! There's a lovely residents room with comfy sofas too.)
The only negative I can think of is that there wasn't a shower cubicle in our room, but there was a shower attachment on the bath which worked fine. The train track at the bottom of the garden was right outside our window and didn't cause any disruption at all. One train went past, but it was quite quiet.
