Myself and my girlfriend stayed 4 nights whilst at York races.
Arrived a little bit early on our 1st day but were welcomed and shown to our room no problem at all. We where in room 13, which is right at the top. The roof is slanted in parts but I'm well over 6 foot and could stand comfortably in most of the room. We liked the room a lot, it was quirky. The complimentary bottle of beer and home made brownies are a nice touch as well.
Breakfast was very good. Plenty to choose from and all fresh. Tea and toast served promptly. We also ate our evening meal in the hotel one night, again very good and we would have eaten here again but wanted to try a few other places. We had a few drinks in the bar and that was also fine.
The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Friendly and helpful and eager to make us feel welcome. We had one small mishap with towels but this was sorted promptly and with a smile.
Only (small) complaint would be the shower in our room. The water pressure was very low. However on the top floor of such an old building this is understandable so we just got on with it.
Overall I'd recommend the Coach House to others and would stay there myself again without hesitation.
