The hotel was quiet and the room, which was in a very nice annex across the road from the main building, was spacious and spotlessly clean. Furniture in good condition and tea/coffee facilites ample. The staff were efficient and when we had leave unexpectedly (nothing to do with the hotel) were very helpful.

Location fairly convenient - about 10 minutes' walk from town centre - and on a quiet side road.

Only thing to bear in mind is that you would need to request a room in the main building if you want to be near the restaurant.

Recently we stayed at The Groves Hotel, York. This is a small friendly Hotel with lots
of atmosphere. We had already stayed at this Hotel but second time around it seemed

The hotel was great, huge room based on European standards. Beautiful brick buildings, big trees, well taken care of property and buildings. Clean, quiet, comfortable room. A great value. The town of York is a must visit. A great escape from the bustle of London. Be sure to visit the Hole in the Wall pub, a great little pub in walking distance. ~Luke and Jessica

I thought that this was a lovely hotel in a quiet tree-lined avenue. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was incredibly clean.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
