My mother, aunt and I stayed at the Blossoms York just before Easter Weekend. We arrived a little early for the 4 pm check in, but were advised that our room was ready and that we could move right in. The room was really nice and very clean, as was the ensuite. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was delicious, well worth the extra money. The real standout about this place, however, was the staff. We were greeted with a smile, given information and directions, and best of all the staff kept our luggage for us after we had checked out of our room. When we returned later than expected, the staff expressed concern for our well-being, and were wonderful about the delay. All in all, I highly recommend the Blossoms for anyone traveling to York and looking for comfort, service, and easy access to the center of town.

Our experience at Blossoms was pretty average for the price we had to pay. We had a room in the attic, 60-plus stairs up to the top floor with no lift. The room smelt of cigarettes the whole time we were there. The hook fell off the bathroom door when trying to hang up a towel and was never replaced. If you wanted a hairdryer you had to go and ask for it. Breakfast was pretty awful, so much so we decided to not even bother with it on our 2nd morning. The dining room looked shabby and grubby.
I have just come back from Granada, Spain and paid only 2/3rds of the price we had to pay at Blossoms for a great 3* Hotel. I also paid the same price in the IoW as I paid at Blossoms and got a far superior B&B. My advice is don't bother with Blossoms, its over priced and shabby. The only plus point for me was that it was just a 10 minute walk into the centre of York but I'm sure there are plenty of other B&Bs that are just as convenient for town. The staff seemed to consist of just one guy who worked his socks off but that just wasn't enough to compensate for a poor experience.

We stayed at Blossoms for two nights over Easter 2007, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Location wise - it is ideal - only 10 minutes walk from the centre of York. There is limited parking available at the hotel, but if it is full, the staff will provide you with other options close by which is great.

The room we stayed in was bright, airy and spacious and both the room and ensuite were immaculately clean and tidy.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, the best customer service we have had so far in the UK. From our arrival right through until we checked out, the staff could not do enough for us - from offering to help with parking, asking if we would like any help to carry our bags to our room; giving us useful York information, even offering to make us a cup of tea when we arrived! They also came around with an Easter Egg for everyone on Saturday evening!

I definately recommend Blossoms - it may be a less expensive hotel, but the staff make you feel like an incredibly valued guest and go out of their way to make you have a fantastic stay in York.

The room was clean, bright, spacious and well equiped, but mostly, the staff were incredibly helpful, welcoming and smiley. It all made our stay really nice. Recommended!
