The pub itself is in need of decorating, but the rooms are totally different. They are newly fitted with a large ensuite bathroom and basic tea/coffee facilities.
The owner appeared a little confused, however, when we arrived as to who we were, but this was resolved fairly quickly.
The pub does have bands playing until 11.00 ish, so if you wanted an early night, forget it!!
Also, there was a bar adjacent to our room which was open until 1pm which was playing loud music.
I would say that if you're not bothered about noise, come and stay here. If noise concerns you, I wouldn't come here.
The location is spot on!
Right in the centre of York.
We were told that there was parking available, but on arrival, the road to get to the hotel was pedestrianised, so we could not park and had to pay £12.00 at the Train station, which was a little disappointing!
