“Heaven on earth”

The Orchard House

Having driven over from from a horrendous hotel in the Lake District, when we arrived at the Orchard House I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Total luxury, total pampering and cosetting, and the attention to detail was exemplary. The room was gorgeous, the bed and duvet like being wrapped in a large marshmallow and the breakfast ... well, the best I've ever had. My only wish is that I had reason to travel to the Norh East again and stay there. Simply the best hotel (large or small) I've ever stayed in.

Definately lives up to all the reviews. We were originally due to stay in May but our car broke down on the way and we were towed home. We called Graham and explained we would not be arriving and he said we could take the booking at a later date - I haven't come across many places that will do that and I'm a travel agent! We finally made it to stay on the 11th September and a very warm welcome awaited us. It is the attention to detail that impressed us so much if only more of the hotels in this country were as good. If you are planning a trip to Northumberland this is the place to stay

We just spent a lovely weekend at the Orchard House while exploring the surrounding area. The B&B is better than many hotels we have stayed in and all the little touches make all the difference - refreshing juice on arrival, pastries in the room, complimentary "nightcap", honesty bar, dvd collection. The decor is stylish and the breakfasts are excellent with a great choice of homecooked options. Graham was a fantastic host and gave us lots of tips on places to eat and where to go in the local - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended for a stay in Northumberland.

We came across The Orchard House by chance when driving around while on vacation. Now we’re looking for any excuse to visit there again.

The Orchard House is ideal. It’s stylish and cosy and its owners have the experience to know exactly how to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Whether wanting to get out of London for just a day or two or touring northern England or Scotland using the village of Rothbury as a stopover, staying at The Orchard House will make your trip a special one.

Of all the hotels, bed & breakfasts, and inns we’ve stayed at over the years – in England and abroad – The Orchard House ranks as a favourite.

“Wonderful”

Wonderful, relaxing, attentive, comfortable. All previous comments are spot on.

We arrived about 7pm and the owner had reserved a table at a nearby restaurant "just in case we needed something to eat". That was a lovely touch after a long journey, we hadn't thought what we would do for dinner.

What's more is that everything in included other than drinks at the honesty bar. For example, newspaper (why do places charging over £100
a night charge 70p for a paper???), tray of morning coffee brought to
the room, chocolates in the room, mini sweet pastries in the room. They'll even bring you ice cream and popcorn if you decide to stay in
and watch a DVD in the room!
