I stayed at the four pillars hotel to get away from work and to spend time with my partner whom I had not seen for a while. I arrived well before official check in time and there was a room available. I was also given a complimentary upgrade.
Rooms were large with enough room for a double bed, office table, two two-seater sofas and coffee table plus plenty ofe storage space. I believe my room was unique in that it was the only one with an almost private balcony.
Staff during dinner were pleasant, though I did not feel any true hospitality from them, whether this is because the staff were new or for some other reason I do not know though this shouldn't anyone from dining there. Menu was nice though not inspiring. Though dinner was inclusive, certain items cost extra though I did not mind paying extra.
I booked a dinner bed and breakfast rate and paid £145. I think was value for money. The hotel did not make any outrageous claims of being the best hotel in Oxford, even if they did I would not be in a position to decide if it was or was not the case.
I only give the spa a one as there wasnt one. Breakfast was also very nice though I am still in search for a nice strong cup of coffee.
I would heartily recommend this hotel to business guests as well as for family gatherings. Guests who want to stay for romantic getaways should perhaps look elsewhere.
