“Watch your credit card at this one.”

Premier Inn Sheffield (Arena)

13 Nov 2007

Stayed one night. Everything went ok. Paid by credit card . However, contacted by my credit card company a few days later to advise that there had been attempted fraud using my card.

Contacted the management and was told that it was impossible to trace which staff had access to the card number and there was nothing they could do.

Bookers beware.

We stayed at this hotel as we had come to Sheffield for a weekend of Christmas shopping. We had wanted to stay at the Premier Travel Inn nearer Meadowhall but it was booked up. No worries as this hotel met all our needs.

For a start, it was excellent value at £51 and we had a large, clean and comfortable room. The staff were very friendly (especially at breakfast) and very attentive to our needs. We payed an extra £7.50 each for a full breakfast, which was very good. Plenty of choice, freshly cooked to order and quick.

Parking was good and check in and out was quick and efficient. The location of the hotel was very convenient for us - only a 5 min drive from Meadowhall and a 5 min walk from a large retail park with Cineworld and restaurants. Perfect for an evening's entertainment.

A couple of minus points, it was a bit noisy in the corridors and in the room above us. I know this is usual in a hotel so not really bothered by it but it woke me up on a few occassions so thought it was worth a mention. Also, the bath towels were a little on the small side.

In summary, a very good hotel in an excellent location if you are visiting the nearby attractions e.g. Meadowhall, Hallam FM Arena, Don Valley Stadium, etc

Myself and a friend stayed here for 2 nights, whilst watching the British Open Showjumping at Sheffield Arena.

I thought it was excellent value for money. The rooms were large (we had a family room) and very clean. I found a parking space no problem. Resturant serving breakfast lunch and dinner should you want it, and also a bar.

It's so handy for the arena and don valley stadium. Arena was 2 mins walk away. Trams to city centre and meadowhall 5 mins away. There in a big retail park about 5 mins walk away which has the largest cinema I have ever seen and 4 resturants inc. new orleans and frankie and bennys. There is also a hollywood bowl and burger king there. So spoilt for choice for food and activities.

My one gripe would be, it was abit noisy with outher guests trampoing through corridors and banging doors etc, but you can get that in any hotel.

I would def recommend and def stay there again.

“next to the arena-excellent value!”

I stayed with a friend for 3 nights at this Travel Inn next to the Hallam FM arena, from 20-23rd November and we thought it was a brilliant place to stay at! It offers fantastic value for money-for around 50 pounds a night you can fit up to 3 people in one room. The location is excellent, not only because it is by the arena, but also because it is next to an American style entertainment complex where you can visit the cinema, go bowling, play the arcades, or visit the many American/Mexican themed restaurants! To travel to the centre of the city, all you have to do is pick up the tram which is a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel reception area and bar are spotlessly clean and well lit. Every evening we had a few drinks at the bar and we have to say that we received a friendly and prompt service from the staff.

As for our room, it was always kept very clean and came with all that you need really-clean towels which are changed every day, clean bedsheets, shower gel, spare pillows, tea & coffee amenities, internet access and satellite television. We couldnt complain!

In conclusion, we would definetly stay at this hotel again for its excellent location, value for money, cleanliness, and friendly staff! Recommended! :)

Good room with decent view of city centre - excellent location. Staff seemed distracted and the reception was blasted with the loudest music I have come across in a hotel lobby. The lifts were in need of a thorough clean. Good breakfast though. Overall I would stay again but it wouldn't take much to move this hotel up the rankings.
