My sister and I stayed for two nights in room 7, a room on the second floor with twin beds. It was a very elegant and spacious room with a fantastic shower, even if we heard some squeaking of floor boards above. The matresses were quite comfie. It had a partial view of the city of Bath, and I enjoyed views of the Royal Crescent. Only very minor complaints were that it was a bit more out of the way of the city than anticipated. The ten to fifteen minute walk is a welcome way to get a little exercise, but it limited the ability to come back for a brief respite. This was a minor issue. If you have knee problems, or limited mobility, you will want to look elsewhere, however.
The house was lovely and had lots of character. The garden in warm weather is a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine. The breakfast with fresh fruit, juices, coffee or tea, and the choice of full English, full English vegetarian, continental, or salmon and eggs was superb. Everything was wonderfully prepared with quality ingredients. The chef knows how to fix fried and scrambled eggs very well, and that can't be said all the time. The staff was very kind and accomodating to my sister who required gluten free products. She was touched to have good GF bread provided especially for her.
One note: the hotel provides Molton Brown shampoo and body wash, which is a nice treat. Bring lotion or conditioner if you need it.
Would definitely book here again, if only for the beautiful views from the garden and the scrumptuous breakfast!
