“Top B&B - an absolute pleasure”

Dorian House

We absolutely loved this place. A short taxi ride from Bath (there was no way my girlfirend was going to walk uphill for more than 2 minutes), beautifully decorated, lovely artwork on the walls, classy rooms. Very helpful manager, he's not grumpy or miserable at all as others have suggested, perhaps a tad reserved that's all. Comfy beds, great breakfast (freshly knocked up and not on the back burner for hours on end), the attic room we had was fabulous - mind you don't crack your head open though!
Absolutely top class. Congratulations on such a great place.

Dorian House is a lovely B&B, about a 10-15 minute walk into the heart of town. Room was well appointed and the king size bed was great.

“Slight disappointment”

We stayed in Dorian House for our wedding anniversary weekend. It's a beautiful building, with nice communal areas, and good-looking rooms. But: it's a 10-minute walk from the city centre along a busy road, not very scenic. Proximity to the road means that the rooms out to the back are relatively noisy. No alternative room was on offer although we had arrived early. All the lights in the room were controlled via a central switch, so they were all either on or off. Breakfast is during a one-hour slot in the morning, and the staff were clearly struggling to cope with the amount of people turning up at the same time - as well as running out of basics like brown toast at 9.30 am. For £100 a night I would have expected more attention to detail and guests.

We arrived to Dorian House, and found the place absolutely beautiful, perfect. The rooms were spotless, excellent views of Bath from every window, Peter the manager, great guy, he helped us in every way he could, and he served us the best breakfast we had in our whole 15 days trip.
There is a ten minute walk from the bus station to the hotel, be careful and ask before you start walking, we took the wrong way and walk half an hour. The cab from Bath to the hotel is 4 pounds. I recommend it, especially at night after dinner.

“Luxury B&B with nice touches”

Dorian House

We've returned from a pleasent weekend spent in Bath. Having read previous reviews on Dorian House, I was keen to discover for myself what this B&B had to offer. We were really impressed!
Upon arrival the owner (Peter) greeted us with enthusiasm and showed us to our room (Vivaldi). The room was located in the basement of the grand house, down a delightful staircase. The room was well decorated with a 'oriental / african' fusion theme, the bed was huge and very comfortable. En-suite equally well decorated and all very clean. We appreciated the touches of free dressing gowns, chocolates on the bed and complimentary mineral water, tea, coffee and biscuits which was welcoming. Being in the basement the room was not as well lit, with three smaller bay fronted windows, but with the February wind and rain this didn't bother us, however, I would recommend a first floor room in the summer to appreciate the natural light. Breakfast is served from 9.30am - 10.30am weekends which seemed a little early but we were grateful to make the most of the day. In addition, week days breakfast starts at 8am. The only grievance we did have, was that staying in a room below the breakfast room was really quite noisy in the morning, the floors were wooden so we could hear heavy footsteps and also the kitchen preparation for breakfast.with plates and cutlery being prepared...if you do want more of a lie-in then I would not recommend any of the two rooms in the basement for this reason. You do have a wonderful choice for breakfast...cereals, pastries, fruit and yoghurt to start and a full English or a variety of different egg dishes, including 'Eggs Benedict'. for main. The food was cooked (and served) to perfection...the cleanest (not at all greasy) and tastiest 'Full English' I've had at a B&B. The location of Dorian House is a little way away from the main centre of Bath, but if like us you are not afraid of a little downhill walk (15 mins) then this is fine. We did get a taxi in the evening which only cost £4.50. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone...it is beautifully decorated, well appointed, serves great breakfast and has extremely beautiful bedrooms. P.S Ignore previous comments about the owner, he is 'reserved' but still welcoming and certainly not rude.
