I stay at the Hilton Bath regularly on business, as my company has a special deal with the chain which ties us in with them. All in all, it is a decent place to stay, however as there is no aircon and the windows can only be opened by about 3 inches, it is like a sauna in summer. I have had quite a few sleepless nights there recently which doesn't help if you have a day crammed with meetings the next day.
The breakfasts are good, however I have had to wait for up to 10 minutes just to be seated (and this is at 7.30am before the tourists come for breakfast), although plenty of tables were vacant. Quite frustrating if you are in a bit of a rush to get to work.
I have only had dinner in the restaurant once, it was very tasty but definately overpriced - you can do much better in town, only about 2 minutes walk away.
Be aware that they now do not have any car parking at the hotel - in the past you were allowed to park in the supermarket carpark at a reduced rate of £9 for the night, this has now stopped and you are fined an additional £25 for staying in that carpark overnight on top of your hourly rate. There are about 20 spaces in a pay and display carpark next door, however this is frequently full and a hangout for some "down and outs", if I had a nice/expensive car I would not leave it there.
Staff do try their hardest here and I really can't fault them, but management need help them by putting more staff on in the restaurant at meal times and making the parking situation a little clearer (there is a tiny note in the lift, that is all). If I could, I would not stay here during the summer months unless you are partial to sleeping in a sauna.
