We pitched up without a booking late on a sunday (about 9ish) to be told that it was early closing, but that they could still seat us. Pleasingly they didn't rush us with our meal at all. Lovely service, nice decor, good atmosphere and although quite busy, not noisy.
Food was excellent - satay starter was beautifully cooked, large portion. Bangkok beef was superb and the rice/sides were also excellent.
Whilst not rushed we were surprised to be presented with the bill after our main courses. No further drinks offered, no dessert menu offered, no coffee. Just the bill, with no preamble or apology. Right then.
We paid and left. Ok, they'd told us 'early closing' but we didn't expect to be abruptly presented with our bill at a time of their choosing. We thought they meant 'last tables at 9' or similar, which is fair enough, but in those circumstances in other restaurants you are at least permitted to finish your whole meal.
