Booked two rooms at The Cranleigh at the end of December and was more than delighted with the outcome. Lovely old house in quiet neighbourhood, full of character and beautiful furnishing/decor. Plenty of space and facilities - didn't use the mini-bar but was very impressed with how reasonable the price list was.
Excellent breakfast with a wide choice and good, quick service. Very welcoming and friendly hosts who made you feel at home immediately. Lovely little touches such as the emergency basket in the room with toothbruch and paste, razor, paracetomol, sewing kit, etc., etc.
Would definitely recommend Cranleigh to anyone thinking of visiting Bath and didn't mind being a bit out of the centre. Prices in the city for accommodation vary greatly and at £80 for a large double we were more than happy.

This property is absolutely gorgeous and I would recommend it to anybody. The quality of furnishings in our room was superb, the room very spacious and the bath and shower a luxury. Everything was taken care of by the owners who obviously take personal pride in the residence.

While it is not cheap, it is well worth the stay.

To top it off, breakast was beautiful. Fantastic, I wish we had stayed more than a nights.

Cranleigh is a very nice large B & B about ten minutes drive from Bath's city centre. The owners were very hospitable yet they left us to our privacy only giving help if we asked for it. We booked the hot tub spa in the garden and it was fabulous. We booked the 5p.m slot and at first we were worried that we wouldn't be back from the city so early but the timing was perfect. We were exhausted after a very early start visiting as many tourist attractions as was physically possible. The spa is very private and feels like you could be anywhere in the world. The owners left us fluffy towels and robes, the whole experience is very luxurious. We booked a room with a four poster bed, again this was very private and luxurious!!! The breakfasts were very tasty I particularly enjoyed the pancakes. The owners give lots of choice for breakfast and everything is fresh. We enjoyed our weekend at Cranleigh and if we ever venture to the Bath area again we will definitely stay there again.

“Perfect B&B”

Cranleigh

6 Jul 2007

I booked using the telephone number on the website. I spoke with Colin Potter who was very pleasant, helpful and arranged for a bouquet of flowers to be ready in the room upon arrival.

I chose room No2 as this looked spectacular from the pictures and I wasn't disappointed when we arrived and unpacked.

The mix of old fashioned furniture and modern technology was excellent and we took pleasure in watching the large widescreen TV and DVD on our first night as we were shattered from our drive down to Bath and wanted to curl in in the huge bed.

Breakfast was also of the highest class and there is more than enough food to keep you going all day.

After a hard day pounding the streets of Bath, visiting the Roman Baths, Pump Room, Riding on an open top bus in the rain, frequenting the eclectic mix of shops and cafes and walking to the town and back again, we were then ready for our 2hr hot tub session which was tranquility personified. We were then ready for a meal and accompanying Jazz music at the wonderful Green Park Brasserie - which I recommend highly!!

Both Colin and Denise are superb hosts and a credit to the B&B profession.

I would not hesitate to visit Cranleight Guest again when I return to Bath.
