My wife and I and our son, daughter in law and three year old grandson were in Bath for only one evening, a Friday. In addition, I required a ground floor room with an accessible shower. Due to the policy of many B&B's of requiring a minimum two night stay on weekends and accessibility issues, our choices were quite limited. Thus, we were delighted when Aquae Sulis advised us that it could accommodate us. My wife and I stayed in the King Edgar room and my son and his family stayed in the Sally Lunn room. Our room was a bit small but it was well appointed, beautifully decorated, clean, quiet and most comfortable. Our son's room comfortably accommodated two beds, one for him and his wife and one for their son. Most importantly, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to respond to our needs. Although the facility is on the edge of town, the sights for which Bath is known were easily reached by bus which was available just a few steps from the door.In short, we had a delightful stay and I highly recommend this establishment.

Found this hotel while driving into Bath. Good-sized rooms, free Internet access, off-street parking and friendly management all help make this a pleasant place to stay for a short visit to Bath. Breakfast was uninspiring and the interior decor chintzy, but overall this is a good place for an overnight stay.

We booked this through Trip Advisor. What a fantastic place! We were five women on a 40th birthday/christmas shopping trip. We had a wonderful time and can't express highly enough the helpfulness and high standard of this guest house! Jane went out of her way to help us with our bags, what a star! Thank you so much for making our stay so pleasant and memorable!

We stayed here for two nights with our children aged 10, 12 and 14. It is in a good location for the buses which run into Bath every 15 minutes, about £2 a person bus fare. Although on a fairly busy road the rooms are very quiet. It is essentially a guest house (although an excellent one!), and does not have an evening dining room although they do have a room menu for sandwiches etc. We ate at the local pub the Dolphin - ok but not brilliant but the burgers were only £2.75 so good value really and they have a massive family room. There are loads of places to eat in Bath generally. The bathrooms are tiny, but new and everything was very clean. The breakfast was delicious - orange juice, cereal/fruit and english breakfast. We primaily stayed here because of the price (Bath hotels are expensive!) but were very surprised at how good it was. There is a PC downstairs with free internet access (they ask for a donation to a family in Africa), wireless access is advertised, but we didn't try it. Both our bedrooms had plasma screen Tvs with digital TV. There are six parking spaces or you can park on the road - plenty of space and a wide well-lit road. (Bath is terrible for parking! use the park and ride or get there very early)
The family were very helpful. We had one double and one triple room, but the second night the triple was unavailable so we booked two doubles and a single. After the first night, the owner told us that she had managed to rearrange another booking so that we could have the triple for the second night. This saved us about £50.
We would definitely stay here again.

“a very friendly, clean & comfortable B&B”

Aquae Sulis Hotel

14 Nov 2007

I booked a two night stay after visiting the hotels' web site which I felt gave a very fair representation of what is provided. The decor is a bit chincy and dated but it's very clean, warm and Jane can't do enough for the guests. They went out of their way to accomodate our children next to our room (actually over in a wing at the rear of the building). Breakfast is fresh and tasty. It's not the Ritz but it is a good guest house close to the Park & Ride (and that is very useful in Bath).
