Stayed only 1 night in a single room, fairly quiet. Room was quite large, plain, clean, large window. Shared bath was clean, experienced no waiting. About a 10-15 minute walk from station, tucked back behind some buildings, not too difficult to find; located about equidistant from Crescent (and nearby sights) and Abbey/Baths, which is a plus. Marginal breakfast, but can pay for extras.

We stayed at the Bath YMCA for two nights in a private room for only 32 pounds a night. An unbelievable price for a private room for two in England. The room was definitely simple, with two twin beds, a closet, and a sink. There was plenty of room for us and our luggage, and everything was clean. Bathrooms were down the hall - clean enough but I was surprised that they were co-ed. All showers and toilets were within stalls and there was rarely anyone in there, but it was still just a little disconcerting. The laundry facilities were very convenient and the continental breakfast that is included with the room was quite generous and filling. The location is great and there is a lovely Waitrose grocery store just a couple of blocks away. Staff are extremely helpful and the international clientele makes for interesting people watching. Not a party hostel, more of an inexpensive almost hotel. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend this to anyone - couples, singles, families - who are looking for an affordable place to stay in Bath.

I brought down all of my friends to stay in the YMCA mixed dorm and we had a fantastic time. Everything was spotless and there was plently of room for all of us to potter around. We had a problem with one of my friends and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Me and my friends who came down had stayed in youth hostels previously in America but it was agreed that this far beats the others...for communial toilets and showers, it was surprisingly spotless and i was not afraid to use them....many thanks to maggie and val who helped our group out tremendously.

Bed a bit dirty but good value for money. Toilet is ok. A bit smelly but still ok.
