Here's what I posted to another thread about Madmax tours and Stonehenge:
My wife and 10-year old son did the Madmax tour of Stonehenge and Lacock yesterday, November 26, and the only disappointing thing about it was that in late November it gets dark by about 4:30pm. So by the time we got to Lacock, it was essentially night time and difficult for photos. Clearly the late autumn is not the most ideal time to be a tourist, but one makes the best of any situation.
But the tour itself was great! Paul, our guide, was excellent, well-informed and funny. We did photo stops several times, and he had lovely bits of anecdote that fed my son's imagination.
The cordoned-off voice-guided ramble around the Stonehenge monoliths wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I could certainly appreciate the cultural/historical import of the site. And my family thoroughly delighted in Stonehenge, so that made it all worthwhile.
Of course, for my son, the highlight was being able to have his photo taken by the gate of the actual house used as Harry Potter's parents' house in the first Potter movie.
The Madmax tour was well worth it for us; a great way to spend a misty, gray afternoon rolling through the Cotswolds countryside. And Bath itself was simply amazing. We spent two days there, taking the train back and forth from Bristol.
