Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Stayed for just one night as a birthday treat and it surpassed our expectations in all areas: the pretty location, huge room, friendly & helpful staff and the great food. Stayed in The Mill Room which looked out over the pretty river setting. The room itself was well appointed with modern, high spec fittings. I especially liked the big bath in the bedroom, Jo Malone products and Missoni robes. Some people have mentioned the noise from the road we didn't notice it at all. It is pricey but would definitely stay there again, found it to be a really relaxing break.

This was our second time staying at tuddenham mill as we had such a fab time the first time round. We booked the same room (mill room east) as it was so lovely with a perfect view. Although it's location is remote it's not far from cambridge for a great day out. The staff were still as friendly and attentive as i had remembered which makes for such a relaxing stay. They even clean the room whilst you are at breakfast so you don't get disturbed during the day. The attention to detail is superb. We will definately be comming back again.

We stayed just one night (Sun) taking advantage of the special rate. It was a wonderful experience. It was raining when we arrived into our huge loft room,so we simply relaxed on the sofa with tea, homemade biscuits and watched a DVD from their extensive library. The flat screen TV was wonderful, the sofa was huge and comfy. All in all the loft room was fantastic. We didn't want to leave.

The staff were also incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout - service couldn't have been better. They were incredibly responsive to anything we needed (including an umbrella!).

The food overall was good quality and interesting, although I did feel some of the flavours didn't work that well in my dish, and the orange and coriander bread didn't really work fried for breakfast! The yoghurt and flapjacks for breakfast were delicious - I loved the fact that the yoghurt wasn't artificially sweetened - just the way I like it - but you have the gorgeous flapjack to add that sweetness if you need it.

This is a great place for a luxury retreat to just get away from it all for a while. Wonderful.

Sounds like a perfect Sunday to me! I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. In some ways the rain is good for a weekend away because it makes you feel less guilty about doing absolutely nothing but relaxing!

I'm really grateful for your comments about the team as well. Sometimes criticised for being a little young, they are passionate, energetic and totally dedicated and tuned into ensuring our guests have a superb stay with us.

Thanks again for such a posiive review. I do hope we can welcome you back at Tuddenham Mill in the very near future.

We stayed at Tuddenham Mill last year but I've only just got round to writing a review.
I have to say that personally, Tuddenham Mill wasn't for me. While the hotel is in a lovely building, it's in a rather characterless village (and the walk to the pub is along a very busy road with no footpath) - felt like the only reason to go there was for the hotel.
The rooms are big and funky, but slightly lacking in individual character (our big disabled-access bathroom was particularly bare).

Thank you for your review of Tuddenham Mill.

I am disappointed that Tuddenham wasn't for you but I do appreciate everyone has different tastes. I am a little unclear as to what you didn't enjoy about your stay and it would be good to understand if we could have done anything differently during your stay?

I would say that a lot of our guests do come here for total relaxation and are happy just to spend time languishing in their rooms so their main reason is indeed to come just for the hotel. However, we have close links with a golf course, a spa and the race course and can organise a multitude of activites that are just on our doorstep.

Thank you once again for your review, particularly after you stayed such a long time ago!

Best wishes,
Rebecca and the Tuddenham Team

My boyfriend and I traveled from London to stay at the Tuddenham Mill over a recent Saturday night. After reading many of the reviews I was worried it wouldn't live up to expectations, but it did (and then some). We stayed in one of the Water Meadow Rooms. It was exactly as the pictures on their website appeared. Peaceful, quiet, clean and incredibly romantic. Nice sheets and fluffy towels. The bathroom is wonderful (separate rainfall shower and huge bath). The Jo Malone toiletries were heavenly.

The room had several nice extras: freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh milk, homemade fudge and a huge selection of Mighty Leaf Teas. A terrace that looked out onto a beautiful green meadow. There are several nice country walks all within walking distance of the hotel.

The food in the restaurant is of high quality. We had breakfast (included) and dinner. An amazing selection of interesting dishes, made fresh from mostly local ingredients. The chef customised anything on the menu to our taste and the service was excellent.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet break and would love to go back.

Thanks you for your review of Tuddenham Mill.

I'm really pleased that you has such a good stay with us and that we lived up to expectations! I completely agree when you read lots of good reveiews it's hard to know whether the reality will be quite as good. But we strive to ensure our guests do have an exceptional stay with us and it's great to hear the review that say we have succeeded in doing so.

Thanks also for your comments about the food. The chefs are really acommodating and are happy to cook off the menu if you have a particular allergy, like or dislike. I'm pleased we were able to customise the menu for you on this occasion.

I do hope you come back and stay with us again soon!

Kind regards,
Rebecca and the Tuddenham Team
