We stayed at the White Horse for two nights. The setting was wonderful. It is on the High Street of Dorking , which is a lovely little town. The hotel staff were okay, but not as helpful as we are used to.
Food was fine, restaurant was nice, old building with that charm. The front sitting room was charming, however the furniture was not just old and in need of new covering, but very dirty. The chairs were ripped and stained. I did not feel comfortable sitting there to wait for the taxi.
Our bedroom was better, but the attention to detail was missing. And it needed an upgrade as far as the bed was concerned. Quite lumpy.
I would look for another place to stay next time.
