Pros:
Clean. Comfortable. Very Good food. Included breakfast.

Cons:
INCONVENIENT LOCATION! The hotel is NOT in Guildford - but is about 3 miles outside of Guildford. Not a problem if you have a car, but if you want easy access to the Guildford train station, count on 10 GBP (each way) taxi rides.

No real services within walking distance. A chain "pub" is just up the road, but is distinctly non-pub like.

I paid 65 GBP for a small room with single bed (en suite bathroom).

Also when I tried to check out a day early (to move to a hotel closer in) I was told they would still charge me for my last night, saying "they wouldn't be able to rent it."

Like a lot of people who will be reading this review, I travel a lot with work and stay in a lot of hotels. Without doubt The Hillside stands out for its friendly atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Whenever I am in the area I choose to stay here. The staff genuinely care about their guests and nothing is ever too much bother, there aren't many hotels that greet you by name as you walk in to reception. I would recommend this to everyone, whether you wish to stay for business or pleasure,

This is one of the nicest friendliest hotels I have ever used. The staff are great and nothing is too much of a problem. The rooms are very well appointed with huge, thick duvets to sleep in. Always my 1st choice when I am in Woking. A firm vavourite with all in my company as well.

This hotel is truely unique, its such a welcoming place and the staff are so friendly, its not often that you are greeted by your first name and made to feel at ease! The rooms are divine and very homely and comfortable and clean! I often stay at this hotel when in the area on business, I will continue to do so, I love it!
