I booked this hotel to stay the night after getting married. I was told that £100 would get me a top rate room with breakfast. Actually it got me what I'd consider an average room and my wife and I were refused entry to breakfast as they said my rate didn't include breakfast!

I complained to the reception and they denied that I had been offered a deal with breakfast - they did offer us breakfast but by that time we had to leave. When I looked at the website prices - my room is shown as being only £90!

I complained in writing to the hotel manager but did not even get a response. I'm absolutely shocked how I can write a complaint and not even get a response to it.

Don't stay at this hotel.

We booked in as a last minute thing. The price was very expensive and the room itself small with a not very comfortable bed. The bathroom wasn't very good either.

The breakfast tasted great (except for the coffee), but my wife and I were both very sick afterwards. I rang to tell the management, who weren't that interested.

Never again.

My wife and I stayed here in November 2007 in a room in a 'coach house' at the back of a hotel. We were charged £10 more than we were told we were going to be by the friends who had recommended the hotel in the first place, and then to cap it all I got bitten quite badly in the bed the night we stayed there. I told the hotel receptionist that I wasn't happy to pay the bill until I had spoken to the manager who I emailed that night. Did I hear anything? - you must be joking! The hotel swiped £100 off my credit card and when I rang the manager today to complain that no-one had come back to me about my complaint I was told in no uncertain terms that masses of people had slept in the room subsequently and they had not experienced any problems...and that was that...take my advice - DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

We booked the hotel as it looked really nice and didn't mind paying a little bit extra. When we arrived we were not in the main hotel, but in a coach house on the side with rooms which looked nothing like the pictures on their websites. Furthermore it was very small for a double. The staff on arrival were very friendly and we just got on with our stay making the most of the room we had. The bed was not very comfortable on the first night so we had a restless sleep, and on the 2nd night we recieved an abrupt call at 2.30 in the morning from reception telling us to get out of our room as there was a man outside trying to get in. As we were in a deep sleep it was very confusing and rather scary. The man on the phone continued to say that we should let the man in the 'shed' (referring the coach house we were staying in) as he was claiming it was his room. The receptionist was very rude and again resulted in us having another restless nights sleep due to the call being rather threatening, as if we were in the wrong. The next morning we left as early as we could and reported the problem to reception. The man on reception just laughed and asked for payment of the room which we were reluctant to pay. We asked to see the manager but they were not in the hotel on the particular day. The receptionist was very rude and very unhelpful. For the price of the room it is definately not worth staying if you are put in the 'coach house'.
