We stayed at the Manor House at the beginning of August to attend a friends wedding nearby. On first impressions the hotel is very nice. The grounds are lovely and the hotel very picturesque.
Ouur room was a good size and reasonably comfortable though the radiator was permanently on in the bathroom, which is not good when the weather is 27 degrees plus. The decor is showing its age a bit and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the duck down pillows (only 3 for a double bed!) were even worse!
After a poor nights sleep we used the pool and steamroom which were first class! A nice way to start your day. Breakfast was OK and the staff friendly and efficient.

This is a three star hotel. It is a very nice place to stay though sadly not the most comfortable. This is a shame as it is let down by the small things that matter when you are away from home.

We had our wedding in the hotel in May. All I can say is that the hotel did us proud. The staff were FANTASTIC, particularly Paul, the way everything was set out and the attention to detail was faultless. Everyone said they had fantastic rooms. Couldn't have asked for our dream day to go any better.

“Not Bad!”

As a very regular business user of hotels I thought Tripadvisor had let me down! The hotel is not as good as the reviews suggest in my opinion. The staff are friendly and helpful, the gym is very well equiped - mainly because they sell this as a Gym membership to non-residents, and the rooms are clean.

The downside to the hotel is the dated and unattractive decor, off pink walls with green carpets, the reception area always smells of stale food and the restaurant wasn't very good. I couldn't eat my main meal - it just didnt taste very good at all - the very nice waitress spotted I hadnt touch it and offered to get me something else, but I was put off.

If I was in the area again I would check to see if there was a better hotel available but if i had to go back it would not be the end of the world.

My partner and I and another couple stayed at this hotel for 2 - nights in January. We had booked this as a surprise for our boyfriends and also booked them a drive experience at the new Mercedes Benz World (about 15 mins away). The hotel was everything we could ask for and excellent value for money! While the boys were out playing with cars, us girls enjoyed a day of manicures and massages with the occassional Jazuzzi, Sauna and steam room. All the staff were helpful and friendly. For residents the bar is open 24/7 with bar staff manning the bar till 12:00o'clcok and the night porter as/when throughout the night.... which we found useful :-)
All in all a lovely hotel, would definatley stay here again!

Stayed at the Manor House Hotel last weekend with a couple of friends. Checked in really early as rooms were already available and were all non-smoking and co-located just as we'd requested. Rooms very clean and seem to have been pretty recently redecorated. Spent the afternoon sitting in the little terrace area outside the pool and gym - quite busy on Sat with a few groups & one (quiet) hen party on a spa day/weekend. These seem to be quite popular as they're pretty reasonable. There was a wedding on (I expect there is one every weekend through the summer) but not really disruptive and didn't affect our stay at all. The lunch/snack menu (available all day) was really good value and pretty good choice too. The dinner menu was more expensive - most main courses £16-£20, though veggie ones only about £7! Staff were all efficient and friendly - very impressive and the brekkie was good - the usual buffet style. All in all a really nice, clean and friendly place - will definitely go back (and book spa treatments well in advance as gets booked up really early)
