What an awful place this was! The doors are of the heavy slam-door variety and every morning (stayed for 4 days), the cleaners would go through each room, regardless of whether it had been inhabited or not, quickly checking and banging the door behind them. As each floor had about 25 rooms? this meant one banging door after another at 8 a.m. Also, for a relatively new Travelodge, I can't understand how the phones and pay per view TV do not work even after over a year.

o.k. it's a budget hotel but to my shock, when I was about to use a towel provided in the room, it had dark stains that did not resemble chocolate but excrement. Do they not have proper laundry facilities or just check the quality of their towels prior to handing it out to guests?

I stayed here on a £10 website deal - amazing value. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable - perfect for an overnight stop. It can get a bit noisy at night as the rooms all have big fire doors that seem to slam shut. It is also on a busy road - so can be noisy if you keep your window open but is very quiet with the window shut. It is about a 5 minute drive away from the town, probably too far to walk. Overall am very pleased with my bargain weekend break.

New Hotel. Stay here regularly as part time student at Surrey University which is approx 0.5miles. If you visit travel lodge web site you can get rooms including family rooms for £26/Night or on occasions £10/Night, absolute bargain!!! Very young but relaxed reception/bar staff with generally good attitude. Hotel has lounge bar that serves standard "bar meals" until 22:00, bar open until 01:00. Rooms/bathrooms spotlessly clean and put many "expensive" hotels to shame (it is a brand new hotel though). Try to avoid rooms that overlook industrial estate (suffixed 01 - 05, I think) as lorries rev up at 05:00 to 05:30 weekday mornings. Ok and generally very good value for short stays.
