I travel a lot for work and have stayed in a lot of hotels. They are all much of a muchness, which is why this place is such a golden find. The “superior double” room was brilliant – there are about 3-4 of them in a smallish, modern one-storey extension out the back.

The single most important thing to me in a hotel room is the bed. The one in the room was 100% perfect. Not too soft, not too hard, a sensible headboard so you can sit up in bed reading of watching telly in comfort. The duvet and pillows were both big, fluffy and crisply clean. 10 out of 10.

The ultra-trendy bathroom only had a shower, but then I rarely if ever get the time to luxuriate in a bath – the shower is more important and this one was a fierce, torrential downpour of a power shower.

It’s the little things that matter; the free chocolate and mineral water in the fridge, being given a small jug of fresh milk to go with the tea/coffee making stuff, an iron & ironing board in the room for those last-minute de-crumplings. How many other places do you know that have an “honesty bar” after 10pm of quality wines, beers and spirits that you help yourself to and write down what you took?

Classy.

“Disappointing - suite was small and basic”

Our "suite" was a disappointment - only a token seating area (2 uncomfortable chairs and a small, low table - I can't think what you could use them for) and no bath (only a shower). Also a lot of noise through the night from the fridge (which we turned off) and our neighbours (which we could not). The hotel was clean and the staff friendly - but it was a lot of money for the size and quality of the room.

Great place to stay when on business in the local area.
Rooms are immaculately clean & spacious.
Breakfast is lovely & the owner it always keen to meet the needs of his clientele - lovely range of herbal teas.
Only downside is lack of evening meals but the accommodation, staff & breakfast more than makes up for this...oh and the complimentary chocolate in the fridge!

We stayed here for one night after a friend's birthday party, and it's just a shame we had no reason to stay longer.

The staff were all very friendly and keen to make sure everything was the best it could be for us. Our room was very pleasant, and the little touches of complimentary fruit, bottled water and chocolate were much appreciated (especially as we'd come straight from work with no time to stop for food before going out). Breakfast was also excellent with great quality ingredients, well cooked.

It was very obvious that the people who own and run this place are committed to providing great service and making sure that everything is not only excellent quality, but also has green credentials as far as possible. They certainly succeeded in making our short stay a very pleasant one, and I wish them the best of luck in their endeavours.

Stayed here for just one night after a wedding in the area, unfortunately one night was all that was available which was a pity as it is a lovely place. Staff were excellent - welcoming and helpful. We arrived prior to the room being available and as we had to dash straight out to go to the wedding we were worried about not being able to freshen up, but we shouldn't have been - we were able to use the restroom and sit in the lounge eating our own food while waiting for a cab which the friendly receptionist had booked for us.
