The Blanes Court is simply the best hotel I've ever stayed at for business travel. I have stayed there numerous times over the past couple of years and in a number of the rooms, which are all unique and part of the hotel's charm. They offer high speed wireless internet access from the bar or in the conservatory, and many of the rooms also have signal coverage. This is a huge benefit over the 56k dialup alternative typically offered at other hotels for a small fortune. The Blanes is a short walk from the High Street and a variety of restaurants which saves having to drive someplace for a meal. Breakfasts are excellent and include fresh free range eggs which are made to order when you arrive in the conservatory - not sitting on a hotplate. Above all, the family and staff that operate the hotel are superb, the service is excellent, and they will bend over backwards to make your stay a pleasure. Sasha, the resident Jack Russell Terrier, is equally pleasant although quite deaf given her advanced years.

I was most suprised to read the two reviews as this was far from my experience.I think he booked into another Hotel!! I booked a number of rooms for myself and family as we were attending a wedding in September. I found the staff delightful bending over backwards to help. Breakfast was superb, served in a large conservatory over looking the garden.Assorted cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast etc were available and then you could help yourself to a hot buffet breakfast, certainly not heated up.Free range eggs cooked to order, sausages, bacon, tomatos, baked beans, fried potatos and best of all fresh mushrooms!! none of that tinned stuff. Our rooms were spacious and very clean and I found the brochure very useful to send off to all my guests as the pictures were exactly like the building I stayed in. Keep up the good work !!!

“smoked salmon breakfast`s”

this hotel offers a spacious and relaxing atmosphere, in fact it was so spacious i had to walk four yards down the corridor to find the toilet and shower which was shared with other occupants, beautiful surroundings were complimented by the television that was placed above the bed, which i was in fear of it falling off and hitting me, not that i could have avoided it in the compact room that was provided.
also known for their smoked salmon breakfast that failed to greet my residency, coupled with an over priced bar, and warm beer which got colder as i drank it, due to the lack of heat in this wonderfully converted house with a double garage "that must be the ensuite bit".
the bed looked like it had been made by a victorian esk ikea company "and it certainly felt like it",
the toilet and shower has the snug feel of an 18th centuary pantry that was supplied with a rather large full length mirror to watch myself discard excrement!,
lovely.
needless to say i shall not be using this humble hovel again.
and the breakfast i will never forget, cause i never got it.

Blanes Court describes itself as a "Luxury Guest House" which is an absolute joke. I booked this hotel over the phone on the recommendation of the Guildford Tourist Office. I was told, when I called, that the rooms were large and breakfasts excellent. I was told that smoke salmon is served for breakfast. It turned out all that was a lie and breakfast consisted of reheated but cold food on a small greasy plate. No sign of any salmon. The room was so small that I could touch both walls without leaving the very small single bed and I could change the TV channels with my feet. The building was cold throughout and the owner proudly told me that he liked American guests that didn't mind cold winters because he likes to save on the heating! Oh yes, watch out for the warm cans of beer served in the laughable bar at £3 each which was an absolute rip off. There is a brochure for this hotel and the photographs are lovely but the pictures are clearly of another building.
