This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in.
It's dark, and smells damp and musty.
The rooms have lumpy beds and concrete pillows and are secured by a feeble yale lock. My laptop was swiftly returned to the car and locked in the boot, while I put a chair against the door of my room.
There is very poor security. When I tried checking in, the front two doors were open (leading me directly into the stairway and the bedrooms, but not the reception/kitchen).
I asked for a room at the back, but was initially escorted to one at the front (I had to make myself clear to the point of being rude).
I was told breakfast was served at 7.30 (it also says this in the rooms). I went down at 7.30 to find the reception locked and no one around to serve breakfast. I rang the bell until someone came and told me 8.00. A pointless discussion later and it was off to the canteen at work for breakfast.
My room was not cleaned for the 2 nights I was there. The toilet was dirty when I arrived. The musty smell permeated through everything.
On the plus point, it was very quiet. If the bed had not been 50 years old, I might have had a good nights sleep.
It was £54.50 per night. An absolute rip off. Avoid at all costs - theres a couple of farmhouse b&bs locally that are much better value for money!
