We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Horton Grange Country House Hotel. We booked our room through lastminute.com and paid £85.00 B & B for the room per night. We stayed in the main house which would be my recommendation if you were staying here. They do offer Garden rooms which are OK, but more basic than the rooms in the hotel. Our room was large and decorated in period style furniture, my only feedback would be that it would have benefitted from some re-decoration in places as the wall paper was peeling off in corners and there was damp wall paper under the window - however this by no means distracted from our stay. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant.... SUPERB !! Well worth the dining experience and the money that we paid - A real must if you are staying. Everyone working in the hotel was friendly and attentive and more than happy to help. Overall a wonderful and relaxing 2 day stay and I would not hesitate to book again.

Last minute idea for a quite weekend away, what a great choice. Lovey quite location yet only a couple of miles from Newcastle City Centre.

A 'Typical English Country House Hotel' with a nice feel. My wife & I had a great meal in the restaurant, with exceptional service - loved every minute of it.

Nice English Breakfast, the only slight downside was breakfast finishes at 9am (a bit too early for a Sunday morning!)

Excellent value for money B&B

We booked this hotel due in the main to the proximity to Newcastle Airport and after a very long drive arrived to find the hotel locked with not a staff member in sight, after speaking with an adjacent property owner it is quite apparent this happens on a regular basis. We booked alternative accommodation at additional cost and we are currently seeking a full refund!!

We normally travel on a budget, staying at b&bs and such but we always allow for at least one so called splurge when we travel abroad. On this trip through the UK, Horton Grange was it. And we were not disappointed. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated with large windows that faced east and each morning we watched the sun rise over the trees in the distance. It was spellbinding. The breakfasts were first rate with numerous hot and cold choices. We opted for dinner there our second night and it was a fantastic dining experience. Everything was fresh and it was obvious there was a lot of pride put into the preparation as well as the presentation. After dinner we retired to the lounge for a drink and for those two brief nights we felt like royalty. The staff was courteous and attentive and really went out of their way for us. It's a little bit out of the way though if you're without a car. But we did and there's plenty of parking on the grounds and it was a perfect location for us to explore Hadrian's Wall from. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again next time we're in the area.
