There are problems with this hotel and they could be sorted.

The first is that no one seems to be going round and checking on faulty fixtures and fittings. Here are some example. There was a large pot go paint left in a living room. Many curtains in the conservatory were not properly hung and the outside woodwork needs replacing because it has rotted through. They seem to have been updating some rooms and our bathroom was the most recent, but it has not been snagged - if you take a shower water squirts from the tap fitting, aluminium strips have not been smoothed at the edges, grouting around the bat and sink already has large holes, it is very difficult to flush the WC (also the flushing surround falls off), and the ceiling paint is already flaking into the bath (all this was ironic because we came back from a day out to find contractors in our bathroom being told by the management that ours was apparently a model for future bathrooms). We did inform the person at the desk about the problems but nobody followed up.

The menu is very limited without a vegetarian option. The chef was willing to help once this was pointed out, but he joking berated my wife for being a vegetarian. We came down to breakfast on our second morning and there was no hot food - it was fifteen minutes into breakfast time but the chef "hadn't turned up". Some hot breakfasts were hurriedly prepared by the support staff.

All that being said the receptionists and waiting staff were excellent. They really did want to help.

Room tip: We had room 101 (appropriate perhaps). If they sort the bathroom, the bed is huge and comfortable.

This hotel is located in lovely little village called Barford only few kilometers drive from Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick Castle and Leamington Spa which are all worth visiting. Hotel is located in a fairly quiet street next to the beautiful church and it has a small indoor swimming pool and spa. Room was a little bit dated but it adds to its charm. Breakfast was included in our deal though booking.com and it was tasty and adequate. Staff are all very nice and friendly.

We attended two Golden Wedding celebration lunches here in this lovely village near Warwick and Leamington in March and April, our own and our dear friend's. Everything was perfect. Jayne Brown the Sales Manager helped with the forward planning and gave us a wide range of previous sample menus to choose from. On both days the service, preparation and welcome for the guests was first rate. The conservatory dining room was beautifully laid out and the tables well dressed. The variety of 3 course meals were all excellent and nicely presented and service was friendly, quick and unobtrusive , catering for between 40 and 60 guests with ease. We would certainly recommend this establishment for wedding receptions and other special gatherings without hesitation.

The hotel looks nice from the outside, but the inside is really worn down and in need of a renovation. We had 4 rooms, of which only one had a proper working shower (2 wo. hot water, one with a broken hose). In one of the rooms, the roof leaked and during the night rain, and it dripped directly into the bed making it impossible to get any more sleep.

We dined the first evening at the hotel. Food was rather disappointing, and my steak came with a squashed black fly on the plate. Bugs can get in, but I find it rather peculiar that the cook did not see the big spot of black fly before using the plate.

Breakfast buffet is just below average, but the coffee is rather bad. They did have 3 kinds of juice though.

Thank you for taking the time to post on Trip Advisor. It is naturally disappointing to read a review, where we have failed to meet guest expectations and we are sorry to have a less than satisfied guest. The Glebe Hotel is indeed a mature hotel, and we appreciate that some of the rooms aren’t all modernized, however all of our rooms are being updated and modernized over the next few months. In terms of the Restaurant please accept my apologies for the service received, this is a horrific incident which should have never occurred; and does not reflect our normal standard. Please be aware that your comments regarding this were passed to the relevant departments and managers for immediate action and review. Thank you again for taking the time to post your comments and opinions.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to pick our grandchildren up - part of an Amazon local deal - the hotel is superbly located in a lovely Warwickshire village close to both Warwick and Stratford. Our room was very good and well equipped. The grounds are stupendous and offer a perfect setting for a quiet drink before dinner. The only downsides (if you can call them that) is the food is very good but more like home cooking (meat and two veg) in the 70's. Having said that it was cooked very well and portions were plentiful. We were planning on eating there both nights but changed our minds and wandered down to the local pub for the second night. We both agreed if we wanted to be picky we could find fault (being called darling and sweetheart is not our scene and some our fellow travellers dining in sports shorts and tee shirts was not acceptable) but decided it would be churlish to do so as this was a genuinely good stay

Room tip: We had room 103 which was on the ground floor but was very nice (spacious too)
