A group of 6 of us stayed at the Tudor House Hotel when we visited Warwick races last weekend. It was my Birthday, and my husband had arranged for flowers and champagne on ice to be in the room - the reception had met the challenge wonderfully!

We had Room 1, the Henry VIII room and were told it had a four poster bed so was £85 a night instead of other doubles which were mainly £65.

The room was quirky, crooked and very Tudor in style, but the 4 poster was barely a double size and it was wonky! I rolled across it at night and there isn't much room to roll! It just about sufficed for a night, but any longer and we wouldn't have stayed in that room. The bathroom sloped up hill, and was very basic.

Our friends had a double room upstairs (room 10) and this had a better bed and lovely bathroom with corner bath and was also £85.

I'd recommend ear plugs too as you do hear the traffic on the main road through the old single leaded windows.

The staff were accommodating and breakfast was good. We also had a few drinks in the bar which is really oldy worldy - the log fire was roaring and the food smelt good!

On the whole I would recommend it for a night away if you want to feel like you have travelled back to th Tudor age - Americans would love it but not if they stayed in room 1 (get Room 10 instead!)

The service was poor as the bartender was also the waiter. The spaghetti was from a can it seemed. The fish had bones, the prices were average. The soup was watery. The decor was Great and tudor like. The hotel seems very nice but don't eat there.

We had booked 5 hotels for our 2 week vacation to the UK. Tudor House was the one hotel we were most uncomfortable with. We had to call after finding very little information on the internet, to book our two rooms. After a series of misunderstandings, wrong addresses, wrong phone numbers, etc. we were surprised to find out they actually had our reservation!

The place is oozing with charm. It was exactly what 4 "we only have chain hotels" americans needed. It has a small local pub downstairs, which we were skeptical of, we assumed it would be noisy but it was actually very quiet from the moment we arrived until the time we left. The two rooms were small and cozy. Both rooms had a bathtub but no standup shower, which is very difficult for the two tall men in our group, even more tricky was the slopped ceiling, my poor husband trying to spray himself off without spilling water all over the floor- hilarious. In the morning they serve a lovely english breakfast.

We were also a little nervous about how close to a major street it is, my parents who had the room on the front of the inn mentioned that it was mostly quiet, mornings were a little noisy but nothing too early.

They were extremely accommodating! It was my birthday and they made it special. We had dinner in their restaurant (which was delicious) and when it was done they brought out a cake and even sang for me. They also let me open presents and stay in the pub really late just talking with my family. It was a memorable birthday!

We also loved how close we were to town and Warwick Castle. It is just across the street from the castle parking lot. It did however seem like a long walk from the hotel to the main entrance of the castle. We ended up driving due to extremely stormy conditions.

All 4 people in our group loved Tudor House Inn, and if we are ever in the area again we will be sure to stop by.
