“Conference/Business Standard Hotel”

Stayed at Hilton (Coventry) Hotel during a Conference stay with work.

This Hotel seems to have been built exactly for this purpose - Conferences, Business Mettings and possibly Airport stopovers. I really can't imagine someone staying here for an actual leisure break. The hotel is located about 7 miles from the City Centre and right next to the M6 in the middle of an Industrial Estate.

First impressions of the hotel were good, modern exterior and interior with good conference facilities - that's probably where my experience ended.

As the hours passed by during this two day conference, so did my impression of the hotel. Little things like noticing the wallpaper peeling off the wall in the restaurant area. The food was not very good, I'm sure they used the left over steak from the Steak Pie to put in the Beef Curry the next day - rather chewy and dry!!

I thought the Bar prices were a bit expensive for an out of City hotel, but they probably expect corporate people not to moan as they'll claim it on expenses!!

Overall, an okay hotel for its purpose of holding a Confence, but definately not a hotel I would use on a vacation if ever I come to stay in Coventry.

We stayed here in March and we were expecting a good experience
but were we in for a shock. The reception staff were brilliant and our room was clean but looked and felt tired.
But the shock was the catering. We tried the bar menu first and the rolls came out stale and no napkins were offererd and the presentation was non existant. We then tried the food in the restaurant and that was some of the worst we have ever tasted and the staff do not have a clue about service. It seemed that the Hilton is under going a major cost cutting exercise by not offering the staff any training and the management is showing little or no leadership.

I stayed here last weekend as a stopover for the night and wasn't expecting much more than the standard of a travelodge by the reviews that were on here. However, upon arrival we were checked in without a hitch and the room was lovely. We used the pool (which is not cold!!) and jacuzzi which were complimentary as were the rest of the leisure facilities.

Across the main road is an industrial estate with supermarket, bowling alley, cinema and a few restaurants but this is far enough away to cause no noise at all to the hotel.

As for breakfast the next morning, all I can say is wow. There was no diet that was not catered for and the choice was overwhelming and all freshly cooked. The pastries being kept warm in a little oven was the best!

Please ignore any complaints already posted. They do not apply to the Hilton Coventry, especially the one about not finding it. You can see it as you come off from the motorway junction! Give it a try and see for yourselves.

“Excellent rooms, good service”

I stayed here with my husband for two days and we stayed in a king deluxe plus room. The room was clean and tidy with water and wine also free chocolates. Room was bright and airy and pleasent. The receptionist was very friendly and poliet. On the Sunday morning though there was a wedding being held at the Hilton and we struggled to get out of the complex as people were blocking the entrance. This was quiet intimating and we felt we should have been told about the wedding on arrival. Also when we entered back into the hotel later that day the noise and also the amount of people was quite off putting. We did not feel we could go down and sit in the bar because of this. We felt that the wedding reception should have been held in a room not in the reception. Apart from that a good stay and the surrounding area is great with lots of restaurants and a cinema. The food in the Hiltoin is expensive and we eat at the local pub which was good. Wouls go back.

“This Hilton Have Listened and They've Improved!!”

I've been to this hotel two years running now 2 and four nights respectively, now the first time i went going back in april 2005 , the room we had was smelly and service was so ,so!!!.....now heres the thing we've just returned home from another visit this year( it was a spring break offer £238.00 for 4 nights) and wow !!! things have improved the room was immaculate , service was revamped, they have pulled their socks up at this hotel , so we were over the moon with our stay (myself my wife and son), included in our deal was two free evening dinners and four breakfasts (all very posh and friendly)!! to be honest i very much doubt the hilton hotels will be offering these two night deals with a dinner and two breakies thrown in for much longer!! (we booked up 2 two night break offers) hence our four night stay!!......see the thing is the moat house used to offer these two night break deals aswell BUT they've now been taken over by holiday inn and it's all stoped for them( the special offers that is), and i reckon the hilton will follow!! but back on to the coventry hilton, a very nice hotel, luxury , full of suits!! i dare say charging everything to their companies!! now theres a complex across the road from the hilton in coventry with a cinima restaurants ans a tesco's extra and a bowling and snooker hall.....all makes for a great convenient quick trip across the road!! and when you have kids thats priceless, so get in there people and jump on these special offers they have at the moment, they won't last forever, and despite other reviews this hilton have two hands on their socks and with a hard tug they have pulled them right up!!! credit where credits due they've listened to critisism and have acted on it!!!
