“An absolute joke!”

Allesley Hotel

Too much to write but cut a long story short.

1) No keys! Due to a fault had to ask to be let in our room each time which is a pain after 3 days!
2) Was put in a room directly above the bar that had a group of lads drinking in there who were shouting and screaming till 2:30am... No sleep for the first two nights I asked to be moved and got a "No" with a rubbish excuse. I later asked a different member of staff who kindly moved me straight away.
3)The drinking lads somehow got a key to our room (Master key?) and burst in, They obviously thought it was amusing..It was not.
4)Food AWFULL, Together wih rubbish service,They under charged us on our bill by a fiver then had the cheek to chase us up for it during checkout.
5)The "Manager" was very strange and sarcastic and gave myself and my collegues the creeps.

Makes fawlty towers look like the MGM GRAND!

This hotel was booked by a company i was travelling with as i had a trip to the NEC the following day.
On arrival myself and friends joked about the looks of the hotel from the outside as it looks VERY dated and just poorley maintained. All our jokes were made true once we entered our room as they were an absolute disgrace!

My room was the hottest i have ever been in a had the most aweful smell associated with it. The bathroom had not been cleaned for months and mould was everywhere. The carpet was filthy and obviously has never been cleaned around the edges. The whole place had an eeiry feel to it and was generally poor.

I looked at some of my colleagues rooms and they had exactly the same problems. In total we managed to find 2 pairs of underwear hidden away, 1 ladies top, 1 fork, 1 fag packet, 1 plate under a bed and some used cotton buds behind the bed. We were so disgusted the we left by the evening to stay somewhere else.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my life as travel a lot and i can quite easily say that this is the worst place i have ever stayed in - and i would not advise anyone to stay here! Its not even cheap!

Now I have stayed in some shabby establishments in my time, and roughed it across America twice!! But nothing has ever come close to this hotel.

We needed a place to stay as we were exhibiting at the NEC the following day and the organisation booked this place.

On arrival we joked about the exterior looking like a badly designed 60's retirement home, but we were in for a shock!! It was much worse.

Everything about this hotel is dated, even the staff's unenthusiastic approach to service and lack of care. Once given our room cards we went off to find out where we were all staying. Not put off by the musty smell and wonky furniture fittings the first thing i noticed is that despite my room card key the door was always unlocked and open to anyone. The next thing was the black and brown stained carpet that i felt uncomfortable standing on even in shoes...but worst is to come! I could see something poking out under the wardrobe so i got a coat hanger and pulled it out to find a shredded and soiled pair of boxer shorts accompanied by a fork and empty fag packet! Disgusting!!

Then went to tell my colleges of my findings and i was shocked that a mouldy plate and pair of knickers had been found in their rooms! One of which had a faulty radiator and made the room feel 100 degrees hot and smelt like musty fish!

After that we didn't even want to eat in, what we joked as the titanic restaurant they have there! But a short walk away is a very nice harvester!

There was NO way we were going to stay in this [--] dump and excuse of a dwelling so we left to go and stay elsewhere!

I would much rather stay in a urine stained underpass with a tramp than put my foot in this dated throwback haunted disgraceful "hotel"

This is the worst hotel ever. Believe all the bad reviews and dont stay here. Ever.

The room was filthy with stained carpets and broken furniture
There was a large collection of dead flies on the windowsill. I cleaned this myself with a face wipe and apart from the flies, it was absolutely filthy.
1 window was cracked, and the other wouldnt close. The handle was just laid on the windowsill
The curtains didnt shut and were dirty
The bedding was dirty and smelled damp
Both my husband and I were covered in bites, and had to use the bug repellent we had bought for Greece in the room.
The common areas were covered in dust and grime

Yes, it was cheap. But there is no excuse for filth.

We booked the sleep, park and fly package as we were travelling out of Birmingham Airport. It was great value - room, breakfast, 15 days parking and taxis in and out of the airport - all for 85.00 GBP.

Yes it is dated. The bathroom fixtures were multi-coloured but everything was clean and functional. The breakfast could have been warmer but it was ok. The reception staff were polite and friendly and everything worked re airport transfers, which were efficient and quick.

There is a good pub next door for evening bar meals and real ale.

Would we use it again? Yes - I would suggest sending an email beforehand (as we did) asking if the hotel comments were a fair reflection!

So, if you are looking for an airport hotel with parking and transfers (Birmingham or Coventry) this is excellent value.

FYI we booked via [--]
