I too was very apprehensive having read the reviews of this hotel, but our friends (a group of 10) were keen so we booked.
We found our room (216) to be clean, well decorated and furnished, a good size and overlooked the front grounds of the hotel. The only noise of an evening being the fountain which was switched off late at night. Out of the five couples, we seemed to be the most fortunate with our room. One or two of the others commented that their rooms (on a diffferent floor - one of which was 214 - can't recall the others) were not furnished to the standard of of ours, but were acceptable. I think that room 218 next door to us, was refurbished too, but wasn't as spacious as ours.
Towels for the pool are tatty.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, and we were very impressed with the staff. We all considered that for £141 per couple for two nights bed and breakfast, with evening meal on the first night, it was great value.
Just two notes of warning - check in is at 3 p.m. and there were queues, and it appears to be VERY popular with weddings on Saturdays and Sundays (one on each day of our stay), therefore there can be quite alot of people around of an evening. Not a hotel for a quiet romantic evening for a couple.
I would recommend this hotel if you can book a good room.
It was festival weekend in Arundel and the town was buzzing.
