We stayed in the "Character" rooms for three nights (Thurs-Sunday) for my Mum's birthday and we had a fantastic stay! The rooms were spacious and clean with everything you could want - exceptionally comfortable beds, wireless broadband, Molton Brown products, mini-bar, bathrobes, lockable safe in room etc. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the facilities were good. Breakfast consists of a self service hot and cold buffet which was delicious.

If I had one point to raise it was that we found the restaurant in the hotel was not as good as the restaurant we booked into on the second night - Crouchers -
ht[--] which I would highly recommend
On Saturday night there were two wedding receptions being held at the hotel, but these were well staffed and organised and they did not interfere with the enjoyment of other residents. I would definately recommend this hotel to couples or families wanting a quiet weekend away in the country.

I have just come back from a fab weekend at this hotel.
Its no longer a Marriott and I couldn't fault it. (Except for lack of air conditioning in rooms - to be installed next year) the staff were very friendly and professional, the spa is out of this world and complimentary when you stay. Food in the bar excellent.
Advise - Don't move the stuff in the mini bar - we did and got charged a fortune, as it is touch sensitive - However this caused much amusement to the check out staff when I explained the massive addition to our bill, and was told that I was not the first and by no means will I be the last. They deleted the items without question.

Wonderful!! thank you.

“Hotel ok, but terrible service”

I stood there for one night and would not recommend this hotel.

The staff in the hotel was not at all what you would expect in this category. Check in was slow, procedures not transparent and information about facilities not very helpful or wrong.

The rooms and facilities there are wonderful, but unfortunately I could not enjoy it.

Have just returned from spending a weekend at this,VERY surprsingly, lovely hotel.

Having worked in hotels and Hospitality industry for many years I am not easily pleased ! However, I cannot find fault in this hotel. The staff, apart from a slightly 'frosty' receptionist ( in fairness it could be called 'proffessionalism'), were some of the most helpful, and certainly, friendliest I have encountered. Good knowledge of local attractions.

The beds are THE most comfortable I have EVER slept on. Room and bathroom exceptionally clean and LOVED the Molton Brown toiletries - a lovely touch. Hairdryer, iron & board in all rooms - as is tea/coffee etc. Not a speck of dust/dirt to be seen anywhere - incredible !!

My daughter went as part of her Christmas present for a massage - a wonderful experience !

Our stay was SO delightful I am going back next week as a frind's treat for her 50th birthday - not much better recommendation I feel !!

I stayed here between Christmas and New Year for two nights. The hotel is in a great position for a country break as Goodwood/Chichester are really nice places to visit. When we arrived I asked for a room upgrade... We were due to stay in a standard room and had a free upgrade to an executive room. The executive room was OK. I wouldn't like to think what the standard room would have been like for space/comfort!

We were in room #400 and i'm not sure if these have been refurbised yet. We did have a new(ish) 6ft bed. It was large but uncomfortable, as previous reviews have mentioned they are extremely soft... The pillows are feather and also very soft, uncomfortabley so. We asked for different pillow however these didn't materialise during our stay. The corridors leading to our room had nicer carpets than where our room was located, there was a very musty/damp smell and fortunately the smell didn't carry to the room. The room was a fair size but although the bathroom seemed new(ish) the furniture in the bedroom was a little dated. The towels and dressing gowns felt over washed/old.

We had a room only (corporate) rate approx £90. One morning we did have breakfast in the room, there is a £2.50 surcharge for eating in the room and something to bear in mind as it isn't very obvious. A nice location for a Marriott, the staff were nice enough and the spa facitilies are worth using. I don't think I would pay much more than we did for a two night break... They have some way to go to make this a great hotel to stay at but it was ok for what we wanted.
