“Great Weekend Hideaway”

Woodstock House Hotel

12 Mar 2008

Very pleasant welcome and extremely helpful owner. Lovely village and setting. All in all very good value for money and will probably return in future.

The minor downside would probably be that the bedroom was looking a bit tired - perfectly clean but a tad dingy. With a bit of investment in bedroom and bathroom decor and fittings this place would be truly excellent. Having said that, for the price we paid I was very pleased and if returning to sussex will happily stay here. Much more enjoyable than an anonymous hotel.

A word of warning - the (unrelated) pub down the road (The Fox Goes Free), was a real disappointment. Ok food but terrible service and hefty prices. The pubs in the villages either side looked better. Can't comment on the evening meals in Woodstock House because they weren't doing them during our stay (which we were told in advance, so no complaints). Breakfast was cooked to order and perfectly satisfactory however, and complimentary tea and cake on arrival was a nice surprise.

We only spent one night here but would happily do so again. We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed complementary tea and cake by the open fire. The room was comfortable and of good proportions. A very pleasant environment with a friendly team.

What a lovely little hotel, charming and helpful owners.Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet.Super breakfast too.
The village - if you can call it that- is very quiet with only a pub up the road.
Fabulous walking country and not too far from the 'bright' lights of Chichester.

Sadly we only had one night in the Woodstock, and were going to a nearby wedding so didn't get to have dinner there, but we were absolutely delighted with this charming little hotel. When we pulled up, it looked like something out of a book, with an absolutely idyllic setting in a beautiful village. The interior was just as pretty, and the staff excellent - even bringing out complimentary afternoon tea to us in the sunny rose garden at the back of the hotel.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and only wished that we could've stayed the whole weekend.

“Beautiful place to stay”

Woodstock House Hotel

The Woodstock is a wonderful place off the beaten path, well worth the effort to get there. The exceptional staff always had service with a smile. Aidan greeted us in the parking lot and helped to carry in our luggage. The Woodstock was always quiet. The rooms are large and well maintained. It felt like I was staying in a home not a hotel. We liked it so much, we cancelled our stay in Brighton just to come back and spend a few more days. This year we made sure to book early.
