“Wonderful retreat from hectic city life”

We have just returned from a one night stay at Quebecs for a city shopping/sightseeing break. The hotel reception area is currently decorated for Christmas with a huge tree and a lovely pine aroma. This gives a lovely festive atmosphere, just perfect for getting into the Christmas shopping spirit! The staff were extremely polite and helpful- check in was a breeze. We were delighted to discover we were to be upgraded for our stay, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, with fabulous pillows and duvet. The bathroom was incredibly spacious with an excellent power shower. The breakfast was great- the continental selection had a lovely choice of fresh fruit and pastries- just perfect for gaining those essential calories to hit the shopping malls! All in all a good value, very enjoyable stay!

Very central hotel. Excellent staff. Lots of good friendly touches including the residents honesty bar. Good breakfast. Makes a change from the chain hotels.

Thank you very much for your review and for describing Quebecs as 'A little bit different', this is due to the fact that we are the only independant four star boutique Hotel in the centre of Leeds.

It was great to read that our staff looked after you so well, I will pass on the positive feedback.

Many thanks

“Intimate city stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, after the long, long journey from Tasmania. We were able to walk to the hotel from the railway station, and received a warm welcome. The reception desk at the foot of the grand staircase, underneath stunning stained glass windows, makes you feel that you are staying in a grand private home. We especially liked the lounge area, that becomes a help yourself bar each evening, with nice nibbles, and an honesty book to record drinks with your room number.
The room was quiet and the linen and towels very good quality.
The room was too hot for us, but the staff helped us to turn the heating down and we were able to open a window. The lighting could be improved, as it is a bit dim for reading.

“VERY DISAPPOINTED!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

iv stayed in several hotels in leeds over the yrs and this is the worst.we booked the basic room havin seen pics on here and really liked it,how wrong we were..our room,502,was on the top floor, roof space,it was nothing like the photos, tiny, stuffy, heat unbelievable, the noise level was incredible throughout the night and i normally sleep through anything!! the pillows and bed were very poor as well.in general the carpets throughout the hotel were dirty and in need of cleaning,i could go on but i think you get the picture.on checking out we were asked if we enjoyed our stay,my wife very politely said yes,i would still be there now if i had started but couldnt wait to leave..in short i wouldnt stay here again and i do hope the management contact me over this review but i wont hold my breath...incidently the couple we were with complained about there room and were moved,i shouldnt have to complain because it should right from the start..

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your views on Trip Advisor.

Firstly I would like to apologise for your disappointment with your room allocation. Here at Quebecs we take all feedback seriously and are in contact with any guests that are not completely satisfied with their stay and we do take measures for quality control, as you mentioned, you were asked on check out if you had enjoyed your stay.

I would have liked to contact you privately; however we have no way of tracing your booking through you Trip Advisor profile.

I an very concerned by some of the points you raised, firstly the room being too warm, I have had the air conditioning unit tested today and is in working order. Our beds are hand made in England, are wrapped in Egyptian Cotton and have had many complements about their comfort. You mentioned that you were disturbed by noise during the night, I would like to clarify if this was noise from inside or outside the Hotel as your bedroom was on the top floor and away from any street noise.

Please contact me directly so we may discuss your stay further. I hope we can welcome you back to Quebecs in the future for a more enjoyable experience.

Many thanks

“Nice hotel but room noisy and too hot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Hotel nice and staff very friendly as said in many other reviews.
However our room at front of hotel was very noisy from traffic outside. Hotel is on main inner city loop so there is a lot of traffic ever during night.
Other problem was heat in the room. Turned heating off but room was still unbearably hot - and couldn't open windows due to noise outside.

Room Tip: Not at front or maybe just choose a hotel in a quieter location.
