Stayed for one night (thankfully!!) on Friday 17th February. After what was a brilliant start with the nicest receptionists I have ever come across, things deteriorated from there! Our room was dusty, the bathroom was reasonable but the towels were like bricks. We went out in the evening for a meal, but as Leeds Rhinos were playing Manley, everywhere was chocca so we decided to return to the hotel for a drink rather than fight our way into a pub. After being served the first time by a nice young man, when we went back for a second drink there was nobody at the bar. We had to ask for someone to serve us. When we went up for the third drink (and what was going to be our last) there was nobody around at all and we again had to ask at the reception desk. Nobody showed up so we gave up! Our son and his partner had joined us, and were going to get a taxi back to Leeds, they asked at reception, who rang a cab, it arrived and my son realised he had left something in our car, we went to get it for him (which took about 2 minutes) and by the time he returned one of the staff members had taken his cab!! Not impressed that after calling him a cab and waiting 10 minutes (without a drink!!!!!) the cheeky staff who couldn't be bothered to serve us took the cab for themselves! Great customer service! NOT!!! And to add insult to injury, we were woken at 9.14 a.m. by housekeeping banging on a room opposite us (we had put the Do not Disturb sign on our door!) and shouting Housekeeping at the top of their voice! Not great on a Saturday morning! A lie in would have been nice!
