My husband and myself stayed at the Hilton Saturday night and really enjoyed it.

We requested a room overlooking the castle which we were allocated allways try for one of those otherwise you will be overlooking office blocks not so nice.

We ate in the Razzi restaurant which was lovely and the breakfast was excellent.

The room was spacious clean and comfortable.

a special mention to Howard from Razzi bar who made lovely cocktails.

Would stay again

We stayed here for 2 nights in January '07 for a weekend away and as we'd always been exceptionally pleased at other Hilton hotels we chose the Hilton in Cardiff, we weren't disappointed.

The staff were pleasant and polite, our room was clean and spacious with a lovely view of the castle and one of the biggest hotel bathrooms I've ever seen in my life. Lots of wardrobe space, a big tv, comfortable bed and a safe. On our first night at the hotel we had a free meal at the restaurant (included as part of the package when we booked through the Hilton website). The restaurant was fabulous, the food was delicious and we were treated like royalty by the staff (in some places when the staff know you're getting a free meal they treat you like its a free meal - not here). The breakfast was also great, in the form of a hot buffet and a cold buffet, with lots to choose from. When we arrived at the restaurant for breakfast the staff remembered us and greeted us by name, which is always a nice touch and makes you feel welcome.

We chose to have secure valet parking, which costs £14 per 24hr period, a price we didn't consider too high considering the costs you might incur parking in any busy uk city car park such as London or Birmingham.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cardiff Hilton, an would be more than happy to stay here again.

There is no doubt about it, the Cardiff Hilton is an excellent hotel. Its location is superb, right in the middle of the city opposite the castle and an easy walk to everything. We booked a Junior Suite with Executive Lounge access and couldn't have been more pleased. The room was excellent, stylish, spacious and modern with an excellent, large bathroom. The Executive Room facilities were first class with a good range of branded drinks, alcohol served from 5pm onwards with reasonable canapes and the Executive Room breakfast far surpassed that of the main restaurant. We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights and the food was sadly uninspiring and stodgy. We also ate lunch there one day and again it was uninspiring. If you wanted to eat for England however, the buffet starter and buffet puddings enabled you to do just that. The majority of the staff were very helpful and pleasant with one or two exceptions. We had reports that the sports facilities were very good. On previous visits we have stayed at the Angel, a little further up the road but it doesn't compare with the Hilton and next time we return to Cardiff the Hilton it will be but without the dinner package! All in all, an excellent visit and I would highly recommend the hotel if you can get a reasonable rate but push the boat out and go for the Junior Suite with Executive Room access if you can.

“Good quality hotel in Central Cardiff”

Hilton Cardiff

I've stayed at the Hilton in Cardiff many times. It's a very comfortable hotel with good size and comforatble rooms.

The restaurant has a good and varied menu, and I've always found the food to be of good quality. The wine list is good, without being too expensive. The restaurant has a conservatory area which looks out onto the castle wall and road outside. Great for watching the world go by, but very hot when the sun is out!

The bar is a bit basic, but I have always found the service to be very good.

It has a great central location and is an ideal base for tourists and business people alike.

My main dislike is the braodband service which you have to pay for (a lot). Other comparable (and nearby) hotels give this service free.

I would recommend a stay here, but watch the rates on the website. The prices fluctuate considerably.

I think I've stayed at this hotel 14 times in the past year - saves driving home after a good night out!!

Some Hilton's are average, but this one is just supberb. Great staff, stunning Executive Lounge and wonderful service in the restaurant! No wonder I keep coming back! I've stayed at all types of rooms in the this hotel, including the Presidential Suite - and, all are faultless! So many other hotels in this chain could learn a thing or two from the Cardiff Hilton. Keep up the good work and I will keep coming back!
