Please be aware - there are 2 Park Inns in Cardiff - one central Cardiff (thus reviews refering to noise) - the other North of Cardiff - this is where we have stayed on 3 seperate occassions.

The Park Inn North is in need of a re-fit & on previous stays we took issue ref quality of breakfast / dinner & service.

However, we stayed 2 nights at the end of December 2007 & it was a pleasant stay.

Rooms ok - in need of updating.
Staff friendly & helpful.
Breakfast good.

If you stay here look for a deal on internet!

It is not as bad as some reviews say.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times and overall it's not that bad. However as a previous reviewer noted it is very close to the CIA and depending on who is playing there it can be noisy.

They are currently refurbishing the hotel and there is a lot of building work going on. On the days that I stayed there the work began before 9am and did not finish until 4.30 to 5pm. The hammering and the drilling was so loud I could not hear the TV. I went down to reception and asked politely when the work was going to finish for the day and none of the reception staff seemed to know.

If you do have to stay there then make sure you go out early and don't go back in until after 5pm otherwise it will drive you mad.

Finally if you have any questions try not to ask the reception staff anything because they seem to know very little.

Booked this hotel, formaly Jurys, for location as we were going to a concert in cardiff international arena which is directly opposite. Did two nights and what a noise came from arena first night. 50 cent was on, and I am not joking my bed was vibrating! They do have a curfew which is 11pm and crowd clears quickly after. Of course I wouldnt have heard all this if I had only done the one night. Apart from that our room was good, didnt do breakfast. Location, lots of construction going around everywhere in cardiff now and major works around the hotel. Train station about 5 min walk and centre of town about same. So good hotel for one night if visiting arena, if not bring earplugs.

We stayed at the hotel on 27 October had booked a double room. We arrived at 1.30 pm which was half an hr before the check in time. as the room was not ready we were asked to take seat in the lounge and were offered tea and coffee. when we checked in the room was nice and spacious though a bit run down, but was nice and clean-good job done by the housekeepers. Also the taxi service company associated with the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Morning breakfast was refreshing and just made our day. We thank all staff at the park inn and i would recommend this hotel to everyone.
