We stayed in a twin room for one night for the Speedway GP weekend, and were very happy with our stay. The hotel is about 200 yards from the Millenium Stadium so it was a perfect location for us. The room was moderm & clean, and the beds were very comfortable (lovely duvets). Some noise from the local nightclub, but we expected this & the triple glazing blocked the bulk of it out (we had no trouble getting to sleep). I could understand how people with luggage would have touble with the narrow stairs & the small lifts, and the hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren & the stairs/lifts are a bit hard to find. The complimentary continental breakfast is good also, we didn't feel the need to pay extra for the fried breakfast. Overall, no real complaints about the hotel, and for £124 per night, it seemed a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and it certainly was a comfortable nights stay.

First time in Cardiff, my wife and I went especially to see 2 concerts in St Davids Hall.
Hotel staff were friendly, room (deluxe) was big and ultra modern,
Breakfast what you would expect, no problems.
Cardiff nice spot for a couple of days shopping etc, any longer would be boring.
Royal Hotel is very central to Bus/Train, shopping and beside a large Wetherspoons(Converted Theatre). Great value and foodwas great.

“Wonderful Weekend!!”

The Royal Hotel

Just returned from another wonderful experience of this hotel. I had stayed before on business but had decided to book a junior suite for the weekend.

The room was lovely and the view was brilliant, I absolutely love the beds at this hotel they are so comfy and so too are the pillows.

The staff are just fantastic with a special mention to Simon the guy from Leeds. We were constantly asking for the iron, wine glasses, drinks etc and reception were cheerful at all times and one girl even went searching the hotel for the ironing board for us so we wouldn't be late going out for our meal.

Each time I have left the Royal I am sad to go and I will definately be returning in the near future.

“Very nice hotel; if you can get through the door!”

The Royal Hotel

Just returned from a one night stay at The Royal Hotel. It's a very nice establishment, fairly contemporary and the staff were friendly.

The Deluxe King room was a fair size with room for seating, a desk and a very good looking bathroom. Bottled water in the room is always a nice touch.

The bonus of this hotel is that they cater for dogs, with prior notice and at no extra charge. Before I got to the hotel, I did wonder whether we would be put in a "dog-owners" room, but it appeared to be a very nice, clean room with no evidence of badly behaved dogs!

The only problem I found with the hotel is that to gain access to the building through either of its two entrances, you must press a buzzer and wait for an answer. On various occasions, this required several attempts to contact reception, and doesn't really enhance security as long as you quote a name or room number you'll get entry! A much better approach would be to integrate their snazzy contactless door keys with the exterior doors.

Overall, a very pleasant stay, for a good price (£100).
